Bought this car back in march and I just bought a couple of other cars so something has to go.
I really hate to let this car go but I'll give it a try.
Its a real documented SS 396. Has a warranty CE block but everything else is original. Day 2 mods are mostly from 1969. Well known car from Chicago/Milwaukee area.
beautiful rust free body and all the chrome and weatherstrips are like new. Runs Awesome!
Asking 28,500 267-246-6903 thanks for the ad http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Don,
I have seen this car many times......the latest was at Chevy Vette Fest a few years ago....the very first show at Rosemont. A very cool car with great paint and car history. I even may have a few pics of it, I`ll have to see if I can dig them up. Good luck with the sale....

Awesome car. I think Frank should trade his Astro Chevelle for it. Its right up his alley. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I took out the floor covers and the original carpet was mint under them. Ive toned the car down a bit since the pic and it has redlines on it now with the period slots. all the original parts are underneath. I was even thinking about changing the rest of the interior but was told to leave it as is. the original weatherstrips are perfect and is all original paint in the jambs and in the trunk.
If someone wanted to put it back {which is crazy} you can do it without alot of problems. I found the original broadcast sheet to it also. Personally I think its a way cooler car than the black one on ebay. I dont get it!! Its a made up car and its doing 25k and here is a real survivor day 2 car than can never be duplicated. I guess you just have to be tuned in http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gifCar is way better looking in person. Ask Sammy http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif The color is V-2 Sequoia Green?

Was this car on Ebay earlier this year? I remember seeing it somewhere. Great looking car with a vintage 70s paint job.

Don, it may simply be that the black car has more/better pics posted in the ad. All we get to see of your car is the rear bumper! Post up some more pics and I'm sure the interest will be there http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Thanks for posting some pics of it!!! Ive chaged a few things like got rid of those newer wheels for some period Cragar alum slots and redlines. Also took that viyl top material off the back and put the original SS396 Emblems back. I left everything else intact. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

The car really is what Don and some of you said. It is real clean and all weatherstripping, trim, glass and chrome is exceptional. Runs and shifts well. I love the dual quads. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

I was in the Chicago Gearheads for a while...and it's killing me because I don't remember this car. Most of the group were Chicago Police officers. I remember a guy named Ron but he had a 61 Biscayne I think...darl silver metallic...this is a neat car.

-------This Chevelle is a time warp. Very nice. The paint job had to be well applied to have stayed this nice for this long. I figure you can run out of fuel in the tank and keep going for another 20/30 miles at least with all the fuel line on there. I have never been able to get a handle on Thrush side-pipes, but I guess its part of the car. Some nice chrome tips in front of the rear wheel would give the same feel. I still dig it though......Bill S

Ive taken the sidepipes off in favor of original looking pipes behind the rear tires. They were nos ones I bought a long time ago and thought they would look great but i never warmed up to them. I'll put them on ebay so someone else can use them.

Last try i guess. Ive put more time and money in her changed the interior for the better and new carpets and door panels and dash. I just dont understand why you cant sell a car like this. You see guys wanting 20k for a malibu body and i cant sell a true documented ss396 car for a little more with incredible history. I thought for sure with all you day 2 guys on this board that one of you would want this car. thanks for the ad http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I have not been on here in a long while but that car is gone. I sold it to a guy up in wisconsin who knew the original owner as a kid and wanted the car to stay with him forever. I dont think it will be for sale for a very long time..Wish i never sold it myself to be honest...I always knew it was special.
