Anyone have any info on Copo Camaros from this dealer? Are there any other known Copo Camaros from this dealer other than the 3E built orange RS? I've tracked a 3E built Copo Camaro back to Lorain county in '73 but I don't think its a Prout car.

My 3E car came from Lorain, Oh and was sold used at Ben Lupe Chev in Avon Lake after original owner traded for an Impala after owning it for approx 1 month. Car was sold new at Ed Stinn in Cleveland. Car lived all it's life in that area until I bought it in 1984.

Jackshaw was involved with fast cars pretty early...

Later, Eddie built this Z-11 through Jackshaw with over the counter parts. Car was later called the White Tornado.

Ed Stinn Chevrolet was located at 21201 Center Ridge Rd. In the City of Fairview Park, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. The dealership finally closed it's doors sometime in the early 1990s. Unfortunately the dealership building was demolished back in 1997 or 1998 and an Office Depot store now sits on the original site. I have some dealership memorabilia from there, an old receipt dating from the 1980s, a matchbook, and several preferred customer cards from the late 1980s, with the "heartbeat" slogan.. The cards are pretty cool and would be a neat display piece with your vehicle.

If anyone is interested, I will part/sell one of the cards and can photocopy the receipt and give it to you. I do not want to sell the actual reciept itself. Let me know and I will e-mail you pictures of the mentioned items if you want..

A friend of mine's Chevelle was originally purchased there and he has a really cool collection of their dealership memorabilia... I also saw an old photograph of the dealership dating back to the late sixties and in the picture were several, new SS Novas, Chevelles and Camaros which were all parked together in a row adjacent to Center Ridge Rd. Was a very cool picture!!

I called the Stinn dealership back in the early 90's after finding my car came from Stinn's. I always asked for the finance dept when checking dealers for paperwork. The people started questioning me pretty hard on what my business was and then told me the dealership was closing and nothing was available. I was told later the Feds had come in and shut Ed down to to gambling and embezelment.

Yes this is pretty much accurate information. I know the woman who now lives in his old home which is also in the city where the dealership was. She stated that he and his wife just "vanished" from the home and it went into foreclosure which is when she purchased it. She stated that the Stinns left all of their personal belongings inside the home, clothing and furniture. She said it was pretty odd.. But I guess he was on the run for a long time and I think later located in Florida. However, he is deceased now. This is probably why the dealership was questioning you hard about the stuff you wanted..

------I had no idea 'ol Ed had such an illustrious past. I just wanted a 435 Vette and didnt want to wait any longer. I had ordered one with sidepipes in Sept. and they kept setting back the build date so I finally gave up and bought the Riverside Gold one from big Ed Stinn. Actually got a very decent deal as well..........Bill S

When you bought it did it have a Lakewood roll bar in it,,psychedelic paint job?

I grew up in Lorain, got a pick of the Z next to a local guy my dad knew who had a COPO. In our front yard,1976. There are a few quick clips of the car running at 42 on youtube.

Just curious,small world.
