I see that it is no longer on the schdule. I had heard that one of the episodes that Boydd was making fun of one of the sponsers caused some problems and some legal action was taken which in turn forced TLC to cancel the show. However i can't seem to find any info to back up this claim. Anyone have info as to why this show was cancelled?

No doubt.. Boyd treated his employee's like crap.. Im sure alot of it was drama for the show but even so I sure wouldnt want to be portrayed to the world like that.. I like watching the car shows but that one had way to much EGO!!

Grrrrreat friggin' news if it's true!.
I can't stand to watch what they do to cars never mind the foolishness of the show...the last of the talent left that shop when the old metal-beater smoking guy passed away!.
This years Bonneville Salt escapade was a wonderful thing too...couldn't have happened to a better guy!.

I love watching car shows and I actually couldn't watch that one anymore due to the fake drama, lack of class, and egos.
I honestly will never think the same of Boyd after watching that show. I considered him a pioneer, but he came across as a real A-hole.
I couldn't stand the "just get it done for the deadline" attitude instead of attention to detail.
I would much rather watch one of NJSteve's, Kwizz's, or other members on this site's builds than his any day.

Ah comeon! We saw his right hand man/henchmen Duane in the hotel lobby at Vettefest. BBBenny hollared to him and he just turned, looked and waved. Didn't seem like he wanted to really say anything or get involved. I think the drama caught up to those guys and got a little out of hand. Maybe burn't themselves and the show, out to boot. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I think you would get a better show by throwing some wrenches in a monkey cage!!. Funny though when i was googling to find an answer to my question, there sure was alot of hate blogs for the show.

I cancelled that show a long time ago when I saw them mix 5 lbs. of mud and spread it on the '56 Chevy and then had the nads to call it the nicest '56 in the country.

I am glad the show is gone,if it is true. The last episode I watched about two months ago was when they introduced the new girl. I thought there might be some hope and then I saw the way Duane treated her and it made me sick. Good riddance to a bunch of jackasses.
There is a ne wshow on that built a Dodge Charger for Gary Dordan of CSI. Thay had you believing they did the car in 72 hours. What BS. Its taking me 2 months just to get the interior in my 68 Charger. Dont these guys ever experience missing or poorly fitting parts.
I didn't know it was still on. Life's too short to waste time watching that circus. In the few episodes I tuned in for, I saw way more than I needed to see. I'm not a big fan of the "unbelievable crushing deadline" format ala this show and American Chopper. Get some process management software for cryin' out loud. Just my $0.02 (pre-tax, of course)

My wife watched Duane fall into the trench of monkey urine at the PlayBoy Mansion. My wife told us the story and sure enough I looked down and his pants was soaking wet about a foot up his legs.We all laughed so HARD at him !!!!
He was such a smuck !!!
When I met the OCC guys !! Thats another story... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Hijacking the thread, Did anyone see the new American Musclecar episodes over T-day weekend.? They did one on testing "Factory Stock" musclecar engines on a dyno. Most were somewhat in line with factory ratings (409,421 SD) The 427 Ford came in at 600HP + - and a 66 Hemi came in at (get this) 800 + hp.!, yea stock motor, right. I guess Chrysler underestimated thier HP rating by half.! What a joke...

I was disgusted by their stupidity at Bonneville when Boyd's wife got stuck out in the boonies. (Why in the hell was she driving a car at B-ville anyway?) (Sorry, I'm being intolerant of women drivers.) Hot Rod (Frieburger) was disgusted too if you've seen the shot in this month's issue with the stuck vehicles and the awful gouge in the salt. They should have to pay for damaging the endangered surface.

I watched that musclecar episode with the engines! And If I remember correct those engines they showed could have been bored no more than .050 and use availible technology in todays parts! So in order for me to believe those were stock I would have to see them torn down! I do not believe a stock 426 Hemi made 800 HP! I would say around mid 5's or maybe get to 6 though with some QUALITY TUNING.
SO long AHR. Its too bad that the people writing the show were not car people with experience on the street. It would of been nice to see some detail complete restoration methods
from start to finnish. It would of made the show a lot more interesting than the sh--t they were showing.

If those guys knew what restoration was, they wouldn't have gone through so many 56 bodies in the Junkyard Dog episode. Guys in the salt belt know what "restoration" means. Have Discovery Channel come EAST!
