Need more info.....is the bumper in perfect shape? Any cracks? Any rust inside the bumper? Any sagging? If it was perfect, I would pay $800.00 with the brackets.

I personally think that's the coolest (non-performance) option available on a 69 Camaro... Wish I had one! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

[/ QUOTE ] Was the endura bumper lighter than the chrome bumper?? If so im wondering if it could be considered a performance item much like aluminum heads, which were considered a perforemance option only due to being lightweight over iron heads??

Not sure, but I'd almost bet an endura is heavier than a chrome bumper... if its got any weight advange at all, it ain't much. It was marketed more for its alleged resistance to damage if bumped than as a lightweight upgrade... Somewhere I saw a cool old commercial for the endura bumper where some lady drives around town running into something every time she parks her camaro...of course never hurting the front end due to her "resilient front bumper". If memory serves me I think it was a rally green RS. Maybe someone can find it on youtube...

That commercial is a riot, and I think your correct about it being rally green. At some point I am going to install mine on the Yenko.

Has anyone actually seen this referenced by Chevrolet as "Endura" in any vintage printed materials,or even by any salesmen back then?
I've seen it called "Urethane","color matched" even "Astro"-(in Canada),but nothing else.
I have Pontiac literature marketing it as "Endura",and guess the hobby just carried it over.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Its listed on window stickers and car shippers simply as "Special Front Bumper". I'd agree it was probably just a term taken from what the Pontiac bumpers were called... similar to how everyone calls the 69 "Special Ducted Hood" Cowl Induction. Seems alot of things were referred to as "Special" in 69.

I didn't realize that "Endura" was only a Pontiac term. Thanks for the info. I've attached a copy of part of the sales sheet for my 71 TransAm mentioning Endura.
