I am happy to announce the acquisition of 2 heavily documented Baldwin Motion cars. They will be restored by Ricky Smith of RSR restoration's in Ararat, Va. The 1967 has been started on and the 68 will follow. I had the pleasure of working with Charlie Biele to purchase them. Charlie has been a true Baldwin Motion enthusiast since I have known him and he always seem to come up with these rare machines. Thanks Charlie!

I will keep the updates posted. We are in the teardown mode. We have a lot of parts, date coded block, heads, carburetor, fuel pump, radiator, transmission, original rear end. Joel and Marty are eager to help with any info as Joel drove and raced this car, so did Marty. My daughter is doing great, Bruce, a miracle!

When do you think the ss427 badges were put on? You can see in the old photos that it said ss396 on the back when they were racing it.

The car is red, which is cool. The paperwork has the specs on the Baldwin Chevrolet Bill of sale. It shows the conversion and details. I just hope those Packers continue to roll. A lot of good things happening here in NC, family 1st, Karoline has a few small obstacles , but, hasn't let anything slow her down yet.

What a great find. A real piece of history. I have the 1968 Speed and Supercar issue with this car. Super cool article. I would rather have the car than the article though.. hehhe
Anyone have pics of the '68 Camaro? I have a '68 Motion catalog that has a pic in the back of a '68 Camaro pulling the front wheels off the ground on what looks to be a public highway! sweet! Just wondering if this was the same Camaro that was found.

The letters are on the way for both cars from Joel. He had some cool things to say about the 67 Chevelle and how special that car was, "NEAT"! Haven talked to Marty and Joel about the cars, Joel remembered the car when he slammed the wall with it. They both seem to remember the car vividly. Marty's book will have something to say about both of them.

Disassembly and parts inventory are underway. We have a lot of parts. We are mostly gathering the rare hard to find Motion performance parts right now. The other Chevelle stuff is easy. I'll get some photos when i get a good start. As you can see Ricky isn't wasting any time. He jumped on this one right away. The 68 BM Camaro will hopefully be the same way.

Did the 67 motion chevelle ever get finished?
I was at Ricky Smith's shop a few months back and Kevin's 67, 68 and my 69 are all progressing. Comletion date is probably sometime in 2011. Perfection takes time.

Has anyone heard how the restoration of the 66 Motion/Mason Bros. Chevelle is coming along? I've been excited to see what its gonna look like
It is a 67 Chevelle and is still under restoration in VA. I saw it a few months back and it is coming along. Guessing a 2013 completion date. It is one of the most significant BM cars that survives as it is one of one and was a test bed for many of the new speed parts for Motion. It was also one of Joels favorite cars as he raced it on occasion himself on the street and the track. Quite a few articles about the car were published back in the day.

that's an exciting tease, what magazine?
Photos were taken about a week or two ago by a very well known muscle car photograher / writer who provides articles for several magazines, so not sure which one(s) yet. Will probably be a couple of months to hit the stands given magazine lead times.

Yes these videos will show them both racing at the strip in 1968 after returnining from the Winter Nationals ,The Motion Club Car was then painted the Marina Blue Metalflake and our first run in that color was the Dover Drag Strip in Wingdale N.Y. ET times that day Chevelle 11:71, Camaro 10:79 with a street eliminator win,Joseph Mason
Congratulations on the purchasing of my brothers Chevelle .Wanted to mention that the Camaro and Chevelle on a disk will be coming to you from 1968 racing side by side so you will be able to see just how beautiful your car will look when it is completed ,any help you need I am here,Joseph Mason

Cool , can't wait till someone posts the vid. Welcome Joseph, you guys had some mean ass rides....
Hello Joel and Marty, tonight 3/13/13 was probably the most important night I have had in 46 years for my brother Charlie and I sat together to watch videos of both Motion Cars race the first time after the Motion Supercar White 67 Camaro returned from the Winter Nationals in Pamona,California. This camaro was just transformed from white to metal flake marina blue and the clip was from Dover Dragstrip in N.Y. the first outing as the Mason Brothers together ,there were no dry eyes in the room and when the video comes to you you will feel the same, and I hope the editing will be completed this week so it can be sent out and posted, our grown Children are preparing a utube posting for they never saw the Camaro racing and they want your fans to see this video never seen by anyone, see you both soon,Joey Mason
Charley Lillard
03-14-2013, 04:55 AM
Thanks for checking in here and I'm looking forward to seeing the video.
Charles,we viewed this video last night and it should be done editing by weekend and I feel the only person to post it is Joel Rosen for he has never seen the Camaro painted and looking like the Chevelle in matching colors and lettering since he drove it in 1968 at the Winter Nationals in Pomoma, what we did not remember was the Camaro was called Proad to Be 11(2) Other still Photos are being enhanced now and i can post them when I get them, the color change to the Camaro came in 1970 when a fender bender to the front fender and the metal flake could not be matched so after three trys Charlie said STRIP THE PAINT JOE so the car was painted black in which I will post that.Remember we were 19 and 20 years old at that time Charles ,Joseph Mason
I have updated photos of rebuilding the Motion Chevelle but cannot upload them here can anyone help by sending me there email address to
[email protected] so you could post for me.,Joseph Mason

It says I'm out of business because I refused the Google listing! I got more work than I can do now..These Motion cars were pretty bad shape to say the least and with a lot of unknowns! The bodywork on underside of the Chevelle has been finished and starting the painting process. The 68 BM is not getting the attention right now and the 69 BM is coming along great. If all goes well without any big surprises the Chevelle should be finished by early 2018.I'm easy to contact if anybody needs to talk with me..Thanks..
