I am currently working on a 1970 Chevelle with Bucket Seats....can a few of you 70 Chevelle guys please give me the proper measurement as to where the proper Medallion location is on the Bucket Seat and the rear Seats as well.

For the Bucket seat if you could measure from the top seam (you`ll have to raise up the head rest)to the top of the Medallion.

Repeat the same process for the rear seat measurement.

A big Thanks to you all you 70 Chevelle owners....

Dan.

Darren,

Perhaps you can go into the Bat Garage and instruct Alfred to turn on the "Mr70" Search Light.

Can't. My privileges have been taken away. I already have said too much. The moderators have probably been contacted already. I expect my PM box to be full shortly. Good luck. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Front seat medallion is approx. 6" down from upper bead as in pic. I butted the end of the tape measure to the upper bead for this pic.
The rear is approx. 10" down from the rear edge of seat top. I hooked the tape measure on the edge for the pic.

Rick,

What speedy service.....Thanks so much. Photo`s are great!

Have these seats been recovered at some point? Or are they original?

Oh Mr. Cumby.....I need you.

Dan,
The front seats were recovered, but I transferred the medallions to the same spot they came from.
The rear seat is original.

Rick,

I really appreciate your help.

You are also very handy with the camera....you almost need 3 hands to pull that off.

Glad to help Dan.
I picked up a new 9MP camera with image stabilization, so I was dying to try it out.

Sorry Dan, the squirrel froze to the treadmill and we just got him warmed up. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Maybe I measured from a different spot than Rick but here's what I got for the rear seat. Can't be much help with front buckets; I chose the cheap seats! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Straight on shot.

Well I guess GM varied in their placement of the medallions. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif I measured from the same place you did Dennis, and this for sure is the original back seat.
Wonder if anyone else has another measurement for their back seat medallions? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Rick and Dennis,

I really appreciate the help....it means a lot when a guy has had a long day of work...and he is willing to go into the garage and take pictures to help someone. You guys are THE BEST!

Rick....do not be concerned. I`m sure your back seat is original....just as we have said many times, we find more and more mistakes on these cars everyday....this is how we all learn.

I`d like to see yet another measurement from another all original back seat. I bet we see even another variance.

So if someone has one....feel free to jump in and show us.

Thanks again Rick and Dennis. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif

I would have tried to help last night but for some reason these would not upload. At any rate, these are the factory original seat covers off the Shadow Grey car I restored. The fronts are bench though I am not sure why or if they would be different. The second photo is of the rear. The medallions are gone but you can still see their outlines.
