My neighbor was a new car salesman in the 60's and told me of one (4 DR Hemi Satelite) that was a four door with a factory Hemi. He wasn't the selling salesman on the car, so he was surprised when it came off the truck equipped that way.

I'm not any kind of expert on these cars, though I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have an old(not too old) musclecar magazine from the early 80's that talks about the 4-door Hemi cars. I do not have a scanner handy, but if interested, I can find the article and print the specifics.
I can also take it to a friends house and get it scanned if really interested in the article.

They made the 4 door Satellites and Coronets. They were stand alone models by themselves. The GTX was only available as a 2 door model. No GTX's unless you have more proof than just your opinion. Time to show your cards. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif Then I'll show you my 4 door hemicuda. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

With all due respect Steve...I am absolutely no expert on the Mopars...and based on the cars you have owned..You are the Man!!... Believe me,Im not trying to start any type of argument here...especially about Mopars...just a friendly discussion...Ive been traveling the past few weeks and just came across this and thought it was really interesting...
I have to run some errands at the moment, but I will post the info....and Photos...later today if I have time...

The VIN will tell the tale. It would easy to bolt on the hood scoops and call it a GTX but unless it was built as one....well you know. Just cuz I throw on a bustier, garter belt and some high heals doesn't make me Jessica Alba. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

I'll go with the NO crowd on this being the real deal but if you need help to make a buying decision, try contacting Rick Simpson of TopShelfCars here in Canada.. He used to own one of the real 4-Dr. Hemi cars, is a class guy and shows up here on this site occasionaly.

Hey Pete, thanks, but Im just kinda bringing up a point of trivia here...even if I had the money, I would probably buy a Yenko before I bought a Mopar...especially a 4 door!! No offense to the Mopar guys...Id take Steves old hemi-cuda anyday....just dont have a few million laying around this week...the car Im speaking about isnt for sale anyway...I just wanted to see if anyone here knew about these 4 door hemi GTXs that Chrysler made...
please bear with a while longer guys before you totally trash me on this one...Id like to post the proof that I have and I am trying to make the pics smaller, but Im using my friends computer and I cant figure out this program...besides the fact that everything is in another language!!...she should be home soon and Im sure she will help me

I wish I were a betting man, because I could probably make some money on this one...
Ill admit that I have not personally seen this car, but I feel 99.99% sure that Chrysler made hemi GTX 4 doors...I will say atleast one anyway...but, I am fairly certain that there were more than one made...I feel certain that once you see the proof that I have, you all will agree...unfortunately my friend has not made it home yet and I just cant figure out this damn p.c... if she gets home soon, I will post the pics...if not it will have to be tomorrow...Its actually fairly late in this part of the world where Im at right now and Im pretty tired... have a good night..
p.s. sorry for my bad grammar, but my friend has the keyboard of this computer configured for another language...I touch a question mark, and the p.c. writes a letter...all of the punctuations are on other keys....rather difficult

Another very interesting point about these(this)cars...and the main reason I even paid attention...Zora Duntov was very instrumental in the original Hemis that were installed in these cars(believe it or not)...apparently they say that Zora added his venom to these motors...if my translation is correct !!

I know there were 4 door Hemi's made. The number I can not say. I was/am still into the Mopar brand. I also know of a 1967 Hemi SATALITE that was built. Most say a 67 MUST be a GTX, but this car wasn't. BLK with BLK convert. top, gold int. 426 4 sp Dana car. As for the 4 doors, YES they were built, GTX 4 door???? Maybe you never do know. I do know there were 2 Hemi Wagons built as well as Richard Petty I believe had one and is still looking for leads on it. It was his tow car back in '66 I think?

well guys...here goes nothing...I am here with my friend and she is going to help...if they dont post, its her fault not mine...he-he-he (good thing she doesnt read English)lets see if I can get these pics posted...finally
I purchased this collector car magazine here in Brazil and came across this article...I wish I understood Portuguese a little better, but from the jist of this article...Chrysler, Ford and Chevrolet were all involved in this car coming to market here in Brazil...it is a 1969..and it is indeed a GTX...it is indeed a 4-door..and it is indeed a Hemi(although I dont believe it is a 426)...atleast it doesnt look like one to me...and like I said before, according to the article, these hemis were venomized by Zora Duntov himself....unfortunately the article speaks of cubic centimeters...not cubic inches, so I dont know if it is even a 392...can anyone tell by the pics...I believe the GTX emblem is the same emblem on the US versions(correct me if I am wrong)... unfortunately, the car isnt anything like the US versions of the big mopars which really look cool...I think this car is not so great looking(although I like the stripes and emblem treatment, actually I think its pretty ugly)...too many doors!!! he-he-he
anyway, here goes...
BTW Rich, as I menioned earlier, the car is not for sale, but thanks anyway...if I come up with something down here that I am interested in, I will be sure to contact you...I have a good friend here thats big into the Real Supercars..(Ferraris, Lamborghinis, etc) and he always has his eye out for me..
although I am a Camaro fan(lets say fanatic), I have yet to see even 1 Camaro down here, although I know theres a few because the same magazine lists a Camaro Club in Sao Paolo)..the Chevys down here are Opalas...they are 4 doors too...mostly Ive seen mavericks and a few mustangs...
one thing that is pretty funny to me...my friend is a member of the V-8 club...theres not enough of any one make to make a club...he is the only one without a V-8 that is a member....they let him join with his 600+ HP Viper V-10!!! (now thats a Mopar down here that I would not mind owning!!)
well here goes...
PS---on another note, does anyone know the logistics of exporting cars ôr parts here...I am thinking of relocating for good, but I would definitely need a toy or two to keep me occupied...

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I think the only thing "GTX" on that car is the emblem. It may be some sort of South American version of something, maybe akin to the Australian "Hemis" which are 6 cylinder performance cars but it is in no way anything remotely resembling a 426 hemi B-body Chrysler product.
The engine looks like an old ARDUN cylinder headed engine. Anyone good at old flathead trivia here?
As for being a Hemi GTX, this is kind of like saying I have an M4 parked in my bedroom. An M4 could be this:

Hey John...you are probably right..the article does mention the name Simca more than once...I just wonder how much venom Zora could have put into such a small motor...
Alright Steve, I guess i led you guys on a bit...just some food for thought, but I agree 100%...I actually laughed and thought it was some kind of a made up car or something when I saw the pics...I actually thought it was a Rambler..in my opinion one of the ugliest cars ever made(besides the pacer and matador)...and too many doors also!! But this car is exactly what I said the whole time...an original GTX 4 door hemi!!
I just thought it was interesting and was curious if anyone know anything about these turds...he-he-he
I wont even ask if GM ever made a Supersport Station wagon 4 cylinder...(they have them here too!!..they are opalas...NOT impalas)

I know my friend can get a car in from a nearby country rather easily..Im not sure how, and I dont really want to know...He also says he can get cars or parts into Brasil from US, but if they catch on I will loose my car...I cant risk that!!!!

Rule of thumb for converting cc's to ci's is 61 cubic inches per litre. Or for dummies like me, 100 cubic centimeters equals 1 litre equals 61 cubic inches.
Or, 427 cubic inches equals 7 litres. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif
Now, get out the ole calculator. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
2.77 litre V8 = 3.5" bore x 3" stroke, give or take .25". http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

In case no one has figured it out yet, the GTX was available only as a hardtop or ragtop, so there cannot be a 4-door GTX, Hemi or not.
Around 1986, there was an article in the first High Performance Mopar issue on two Hemi 4-door Coronets. One of them appeared at the B-J auction a few years ago. The other was white, I believe, and I think both of them were ordered and sold new around Kansas City.
In addition to the Brazilian GTX (I think it was based on the Aero-Willys?), Argentina had a more proper GTX, which you can find HERE! (http://www.moparts.org/moparts/picture/Argentina/Argentina.html)

Actually Rich, Id probably have a better chance of my Camaros arriving here if I drove them myself through Mexico (just kiddin)...but I learned a lesson last year when I sent a box of new computer supplies to my friend...along with a 2000 dollar laptop...when the box never arrived she got me in contact with the Brazilian officials in immigration and the fellow told me that I broke Brazilian law because i sent used goods into Brazil which is illegal...I actually took the brand new laptop and all the paperwork out of its original box because it fit better in the box with all the other NEW computer supplies. He told me my laptop and all the supplies would be stored and eventually destroyed...he did mention that there was a way to recoop my stuff, but it would cost about 3000 dollars http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif
at that point I totally lost it and told him to stick my laptop you know where!!!
I know dam well someone in Brazil has a killer laptop!!
The part that hurt most were all the pictures and personal stuff that was in the box too...Now, I take everything in hand on the plane with me when i come here...
Ive been aplying for papers down here for investment purposos for about a year now...with no luck so far...Ive done everything to the letter of the law..Come to find out that my friends good friend is a lawyer here for the government who used to work for the same judge that is in control of my destiny...She went and spoke to him last week and ...wouldnt you know, my papers are being sent in January right after the holidays...(and i did not have to bribe anyone)the reality down here is who you know (or who you pay)is real important

Hi Keith:
If I remember correctly a bronze 66 Coronet 4 door hemi was in Ontario. That may be the car Pete mentioned that Rick Simpson had but I am not sure.I raced a guy weekly back in the late 70's with one of the white 67 coronets which is how I got exposed to the original 4 door hemi's.He talked a lot about that 66 in Ontario.
The 67 4 door was not a matching number car but she was a real deal factory hemi which kicked my 70 ls-6 just about every race. I'm not sure what the front of the car looked like but I knew from the front doors back real well. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Gary Fryer from Des Moines Ia bought A 4-Dr. Dodge in Kanas City Area. He bought the car off his widow. The guy name was Pappy somebody that bought it new. He blew in up and was deceased when Gary bought it. I think the guy ran a machine shop or speed shop?? I remember Gary telling me he gave 10,000.00 for the car. Which we both thought was too much at that time.I,m guessing this was around 89-92.
