Is this car worth near what he is asking!Ebay item # 110204553089 I am thinking about trading a REAL NICE 67 Chevelle SS car for this.My car went through a complete frame off in 1998 and has about 6200 miles on it since restoration! My Chevelle has a Pretty expensive engine and 6 speed richmond trans and restoration was around $43000.00.My problem is I really like my car but I am becoming unable to drive a standard shift vehicle due to leg problems.I thought about converting my Chevelle to an auto but I just don't have the heart. It is just too sweet with the 6 speed. Also I never owned a 70 or newer Chevelle and I really like the body styles so there fore I am considering a trade.Any help would be appreciated.I can send Bruce some photos of my car if needed to compare vehicles!

Thanks

Bobby

Bobby, if you are looking for something that is factory correct I see several things underneath the hood that are not right for starters. I am not ripping the car apart, it looks very nice. Black is an awesome color but it is very rough to keep clean. It really shows swirl marks and little imperfections also... Not real sure on the price. I have a friend that last January purchased a non numbers matching real 1970 Chevelle SS LS5 car in this same color combo with a 4speed that was a total frame off restoration to stock/original and is an awesome looking car for $45,000.

Good luck with your decisions and purchase!!

Bobby,

It it was real and was all the ad states it would bring much more than $32,900. There are so many incorrect items on the car that make me wonder. I've driven past this dealers yard and the looks of it and way he seems to produce these cars make me very suspicious. I'll be gald to inspect it for you as soon as tomorrow as its on the way to my ranch.

IMO if you want to stay in that price range Frank had/has an Astro Blue 70 he had listed here thats probably a much better car but I can't remember if it was a stick. If you want an LS5 then get in touch with Albert for a well done car. I dont remember the tranny on it either.

Let me know if you want it inspected.

Franks car (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/277232/an/0/page/5#Post277232)

Franks car is an automatic and a very nice one at that.

What are your expectations for it?
It has many aftermarket and incorrect components under the hood and around the body.It being painted black, will highlight any perfect areas for you,as well underscore those that aren't.If you are viewing it in person, which I really recommend you,or someone you know does for you, then you should make arrangements soon.
Honestly at that price I would want to drive it first also.
If you want to get it closer to how the factory built it,then I would look elsewhere,as this one may make your wallet lighter then you wish in the long run,as parts & labor today are escalating more then most realize.
But if you agree with what you see & have some time & money to invest to dial it in,or just want to enjoy it for how it stands now, then I would just go ahead & hit the BIN button.
He could probably get more for it in another place & time shortly, because Black cars sell even with Radial tires.

Guys I am just wanting a nice auto car to drive.I prefer for this car to be a real LS5 as the Owner states and be really clean all over and on the underside. As far as the non original or items that are not correct that is not a problem. My 67 Chevelle is more of a restomod and has many things that is not original to it also.I am just looking for a nice clean real SS Car to drive and enjoy.I am just not able to enjoy my 67 due to it being a 6 speed.I have not ruled out totally converting my car to an auto but I prefer not to.It is just sweet shifting that 6 speed richmond trans.I sent Bruce some pics of my 67 Chevelle and he will post them when he gets an opportunity.I spent a lot on my car and If I trade it I just want a fair deal.If someone in the area could look at the car that would be nice.I am curious as to what it looks like underneath the car. My Chevelle is pretty nice on the bottom side.Take into consideration my car has been detailed a lot since the pictures were taken. And this is some of the specs on my Car from the restoration!

Car History: This car was always a TEXAS car and a 3 owner vehicle. With me being the third owner as I was told when I purchased the vehicle.I ran a title search and it showed the previous owner to be the person I bought the car from.He had owned the car for over 20 years and had told me he had bought it from the ORIGINAL OWNER.
Since I have owned and had the car restored! I purchased the car in October1998 and the restoration was completed by June of 1999.It was entered in the Houston Autorama in 1999 and won 3rd place in its class. The other winners 1st and 2nd place were cars built for SHOW ONLY and never driven on the street. There were 17 cars in the class. Also in 1999 the Chevelle won best restored GM Muscle Car at Fort Worth Good Guys Meet,There were 25 cars in the class.

Also the Chevelle has been driven for pleasure and not abused and won numerous local Car Shows. The Chevelle has approx 6200 miles on it since restored but the existing engine and trans were installed in 2004 and have approx 2800 miles on them. There are a few blemishes from small rock chips and incidents over the years that show but still the Chevelle is a NICE DRIVER!

She s no longer a AUTORAMA SHOW QUALITY Car due to being driven on the roads and the age of the restoration but she is a GREAT BEAUTIFUL DRIVER and great for local cruising and having a ball! I built this car to DRIVE And built Her to last a long time. I built this car to KEEP FOREVER but due to health problems I need an AUTOMATIC CAR. So I am looking to trade the Chevelle for something I can drive.I prefer a muscle car with A/C. was able to talk briefly with the original owner of the Chevelle and he told me he purchased the car from Bud Moore in Houston Texas.

Thanks

Bobby

Bobby, just from the pictures I think your Chevelle "SMOKES" the black LS5 on E-bay!! You have a very, very nice car. Maybe reconsider swapping out the stick for an automatic.. It could always be converted back again. Plus you know what you have. Sometimes "the cars aren't so greener on the other side". You may be very disappointed in the long run.. Thats just my .02 cents

Bobby,
DITTO on the above comments....Your car has it ALL OVER that 70.
I'd pass on that trade, unless the 70 comes with a brief-case full of $100's in the trunk http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Thanks for the kind words about my Chevelle guys I really appreciate it.Also thanks to Bruce for posting the pictures of my Chevelle (I know Bruce is partial to 2nd generation BLUE CHEVELLES) so you guys could look at both cars and compare them, and especially to Howard known on here as Rubbinisracing for taking time and going to look at the 70 Chevelle for me, and inspecting it.After talking with Howard I am going to PASS on the 70 Chevelle and keep what I have for now.Maybe even think hard about converting it to an automatic car. Thanks for all the help and kind words and everyone have a MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPPY NEW YEAR!
