Today My Uncle gave me some photos of my Dad's race car. I haven't seen the car since 1975 when he sold it. I was 5 or 6 years old. He ran D/MP with it from 1972 to 1975 at E Town and the other local tacks. The car was a real "Z" that was wrecked with just 500 miles on it. A new front clip was installed and it became a race car...than painted like this. The green had a big flake in it and the yellow had a silver flake in the clear. It kind of looks like the painter had a Motion car in his mind when he painted it. I still have to find the pictures when it was lettered up.

The Nova is not a '74, it has to be a '72 or older.

I just talked to my dad. He was telling me that the car was found in the National Dragster and he and my uncle drove out to Pittsburgh to get it. It was $3000 with the trailer. The car in these photos had the old motor in it. Over the winter they put a Danny Jessel short stroke 327 in...it was 320 ci. It also got a Slick shifted T10, and the Original 12 bolt was chucked in favor of a 57 Olds rear. He race all over the North East with it. He told me he held the National Record with it for a little bit. The car was Sold in 1975 after the motor went at Island. Some guys who were friends with My dad and Carmen Rotonda purchased the car, and painted it white. It went street racing in Jersey City. He also told me where to look at my moms house for some Super 8 movies of the car and some street racing from back in the day. It's funny he sounded like a little kid talking about this...

Sorry the Nova was a 71. His Corvette was a 1974.

A Jessel and Clark motor made him a contender in the Modified Eliminator ranks. What was the name of the car? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif P.S. Who cares about that stinkin Nova? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

It didn't have a name. The front fenders were stickered like you can see in the underhood shot. If I remember correctly the car had a Red Bow Tie painted on the door with something written in it and had Coliseum auto parts on the rear quaters. I need to tear into my moms house to find the rest of the photos...By the way The Nova had some cool stories to go with it. I need to post them some day.
