Welcome Tony. Neat ride. Total sleeper. Would you provide a couple more photos of your beauty? Where was the car delivered new? Thanks! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

The car was ordered by a gentleman in Ohio. He ordered the car to do some Drag racing...you can see the old Tow Tabs still tucked under the front bumper. He owned the car for over 20 years. The car is a fairly unusual Galaxie with the Dual Quad 427-425hp "R" Code engine Option. Strangely enough the car was ordered with an AM Radio and Heater Delete...go figure....gotta have some Music while your grabbing gears! There is lots of original paperwork with the car from the Original Bill of sale to letters from Fords Performance engineer to the Original Owner with tips for getting the car to go Faster. Can you imagine that? This is a Plain Jane Galaxie Sedan which in itself is a fairly unusual car. I am told that less than 40 Galaxie 2 Door Sedans were produced with the "R" Code 427. I will post more pictures in a few days. Thanks for the kind welcome guys.

I will be adding more photos of the 427 Galaxie Sedan in a few days. The Original 427 engine block was replaced by the selling Dealer early in the cars life. These cars had 30 day or 4000 Mile warranties whichever came first. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif Its surprising that they gave any warranty considering that most buyers took these cars right to the Local Dragway. I have all of the Paperwork showing that the Dealer replaced the Block. The Documentation with this Galaxie is amazing. This is an Original unrestored car with 27,000 Documented Miles and most of its original Paint and its Original interior....Its a nicely preserved Original Factory "R" car...Original Bill of Sale, Original Door Tag, Orig Cowl Stampings and lots of original paperwork. I will post more pictures in a few days. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gifThanks for the nice comments guys. I cant take any of the credit for this Galaxie's nicely preserved state. The Original Owner was a real stickler and kept the car very nice for the first 21 years. The cars second and third owners are serious collectors who also realized the importance of preservation and both owned the car for a significant time. This car was always loved, well maintained and garaged from day 1. The car is nice, not perfect by any means but a very nice unrestored 45 year old 427-425hp Galaxie. Im told there were (37) 1963 Galaxie 2 Door sedans with the 427-425hp engine. I dont know if this number is correct but Ive heard it several times over the last few years. I dont think there is any real way of knowing exactly how many of these cool old Muscle cars were produced because Ford didnt keep very good records. I do know that there were very few made and I have only seen one other in the last 25+ years. Check the site in a few days and hopefully I will have some nice photos posted. Thanks again for the use of your site and for your kind words and friendly welcome. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Thanks guys. This Galaxie 427 is definitely cool. The car looks so innocent and if it wasnt for the Tow Tabs and the 427 Flags on the front fenders, you'd think this car was an old man's car. Talk about Sleepers, this is one of the ultimate sleepers! I dont think there are too many early Ford's that get me fired up as much as these Galaxie's and of course the Thunderbolts. These cars were actually fairly successful on the track considering the size and weight. This car is a real 27,000 Mile car 427-425hp, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif4 speed, 3.50 Traction Lock with all of its Original Paperwork. The car runs and drives really nice and it still looks pretty nice. Thanks again for all of the positive comments. Happy New Year!!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Sam, Im sorry, I will have more photos of the Galaxie before the week is through. I have a couple of Mopar Lightweights including the 63 Dodge 330 Aluminum Front car that raced in the Final Round of the 1963 Nationals at Indy in AFX Class against Arnie Beswicks "Grocery Getter" AFX SD Tempest Wagon. I have some great photos of the two cars coming off the line. Thanks again. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
