I highly recommend using this. BoeShield (http://www.boeshield.com/t9info.htm)
You can now buy it at SEARS or Burlands House Of Tools over here.
Click their webpage at the bottom to find your local dealer.

How does it take the heat from the exhaust?

It does not seem to be a factor at all with mine.

This past July, I put a new Gardner exhaust system on my '69Z and treated it with Boeshield. In August, I drove the car to a local show in a neighboring town about 20 miles from my home. On the way back, I got caught in an unexpected rain shower. A week or so later, I gathered up enough courage to put the car on a lift and take a look. Although there was light surface rust on all the unpainted suspension parts, there was absolutely no rust on the exhaust. I am a believer!

Rick, Are not the GARDNER Exhaust pipes fabricated from Aluminized Tubing, where as rust in the short term would not be a problem anyway......

Below is Jack Seymours GARDNER system below........

Boeshield will not hold up on the exhaust manifold bolts, but that's a much higher heat range than the rest of the exhaust system.

Unless you have the bare steel clamps/hangers, it shouldnt really need anything.
