Looking for some different opinions on what to do. I have to replace the spring perches on the rear of my Wife's 68 Camaro. The previous owner welded them in the wrong spot. We are using multi leaf springs. To eliminate any possibility of rear movement I don't want to use the stock pads to insulate the spring. We are using the traction bars with J Hooks. Can I use the mono leaf mount to compensate for the spring thickness difference? Has anyone ever done this?
What do you think?

Unless you want a "stock" look, I'd use the aftermarket perches like were on 55-57 Chevys. So much easier to weld and brace.

Can the J-Hook style traction/slapper bars still be used with that style perch?

Sure can. A strap over the top of the rear end making a triangle connecting the front of the perch and the rear of the perch, and also welded to the top of the housing, will keep the perches from bending from stress on the J bolts too. It's best to have the traction bar snubbers directly below the front spring eye to keep from bending the front of the springs too.
