You guys are tuff! It is a sweet ride, thank you. I consider myself blessed to have owned it. But, there are two leading factors in my decsion:
I deploy to the Middle East in a few months. My wife has plenty to sweat (3 kids, a dog , a cat, a house, a truck, a car, a mini van, a job...) so I'm trying to purge this white elephant from her list of concerns/duties.
Second - having this car has taught me one thing: Until I get enough dough saved up, I can only afford one car - and that's one I can drive http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif. Not a T-queen. One day I day I'll have both - but until such time...
And, like Al said....I can't handle the power!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Lee, I know that it must be a very tough decision. Even though we all hate to see your camaro go, we back you. I am sure you thought long and hard with your wife on this decision. Good luck in the middle east and we will keep praying for and supporting you and the rest of our troops! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Man Lee, that is a lot of quality car for the money. Wish I had the scratch. Good luck!
Isn't it sold?
It's showing the auction ended at $58,866.00 w/o any reserve, but almost 30 minutes after that you state you'll now take 73K oBo? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif
A Very nice looking car!

70- no not sold.
With about 2 hours left I went in and reduced the reserve. When you go thru this process (reducing the reserve) you are given two options: Reduce to where the auction is at, or plug in a new number. I clicked the wrong icon, and instanlty the car had met reserve. I contacted the high bidder, explained the situation, and he understood and accepted the situation.
70 - thanks for being vigilent on this sale.

I was not aware you could remove a reserve from ebay and make someone that didnt meet reserve be responsible for buying it when they may have assumed they had no obligation and may have purchased another car. Its always been that you could only lower it so the NEXT bid wins the car,and also ive never been able to change the price within the last 12 hours when there are bids . I assume ebay changed thier policy ?? I know i may not go thru with the purchase if things had changed over a 7 day period and my NON reserve bid suddenly became the winning and binding bid, because i may have found another car.

Yep, that's been a selling tactic for a short while now. Set the reserve high, let the "play" bidders bid, then lower the reserve lower than the high bid in the last few seconds and wham, instant sale. Of course, the high bidder may try and back out........
Sucks as a tactic, but at the same time, people should be be bidding on cars they have no intension or capability to buy.

King/Rich:
Actually, it's a combination of what you both have written. When you lower the reserve in the way I did you don't "trap" a person who may have bid up to that amount on the car, but what you (the seller) are forced into is selling to the guy who makes the very next offer - even if it's a single dollar more. When I saw "The next bidder meets reserve" on my listing I went into panic mode. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif However, my saving grace was I had a buy it now of 79K. The bidder who was up to 58 totally understood he was not going to win with a 58K bid. As Rich alluded to: people bid who are in no way, shape, or form capable of making the buy. I suppose there is a thrill people get in just bidding http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Either way...that's the reason the car is still for sale.
ANOTHER LESSON: NEVER, EVER try and sell a high caliber car the week BJ and 2 other reknown auctions are going down. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif Note to self: That was NOT a smart move http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
If I don't sell it here, I'll post back on ebay perhaps late this week, or over the weekend.

Thanks for your service. We wish you and your family well.
Good luck with the sale of your car.
For anyone interested in this car, I have seen it first hand and it's quite nice. The level of detail is outstanding and it's in excellent shape. IMHO this is one of the best Camaros out there for sale right now. You can not go wrong with this car. L34 cars are not always that easy to find and to find one in this condition does not happen everyday. They are one of the rarest production motors that the factory produced that year with a total production of around 2100 or so.
