THIS STORY EXEMPLIFIES GUN CONTROL AS IT SHOULD BE.

Shooting in Butte , Montana

Shotgun preteen vs. illegal alien Home Invaders Butte, Montana November 5, 2006

Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resi ndez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11 year old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home.

It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay shooting champion since she was nine.

Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun.

Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals.

When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the street where he bled to death before medical help could arrive.

It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45 caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.

Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news....

Now that is Gun Control
Thought for the day

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'

Okay, I'll explain it. The writer of the original story complains that it wasn't covered by the media. Snopes says that there is no proof that the story ever happened as written. Therefore, I guess that was the reason it wasn't covered by the media. It didn't happen (as written), therefore the media didn't cover it. It has to happen before the media can either cover it or ignore it.

Okay, last time.

Original post: "Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news...." (Writer left out FOX.)

Snopes: "Claim: Two armed illegal aliens perpetrate a home invasion were killed by an 11-year-old girl. Status: False." and "...confirmation of the tale as a real life incident is lacking."

Deduction 1: If it didn't happen then the media cannot cover it.
Deduction 2 (abstract): For the media to choose not to cover a particular story the incedent/story still has to happen first.

If it didn't happen, the media can neither cover it nor choose to ignore it.

Guns will be cleaned tonite between 9pm and midnite...all intruders are welcome to enter our target range for practice. If you are an illegal alien please call first for instructions in the language of your homeland....please don't be alarmed by the loud noises....you never hear the one that gets you.

Speaking of John Wayne and Hispanic people: "Wayne's first wife, Josephine Saenz, was the daughter of a Panamanian consul in Los Angeles... Wayne met his second wife, Esperanza Baur Diaz, nicknamed Chata, in Mexico while vacationing there... He met his third wife, Pilar Wildy (born Palette) in Lima, Peru, in 1953, while he was scouting locations for The Alamo... her father was a Peruvian politician."

Okay, so the attractive young females an stay but the rest of'em gotta' go!

I'm impressed with your knowledge of the Duke...he is a big deal at my house. He spent a lot of time south of the border...wish we had movie actors like him today. 2007 was the centennial of his birth....long live his memory.

The NRA publishes a monthly artical called the "Armed Citizen" there are a dozen or so stories taken from local papers describing bad guys being sent packing by avereage citizens with a firearm. There has been numbers floating around for a while which indicate that reported and un reported incidents of avereage citizens stopping crime with firearms is 1 mil+ per year. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I think he wanted to be a lawyer, a shocking idea when I heard it on TV, probably the Biography Channel, years ago.

Lost a scholarship or ran out of money for school? Just guessing, I can't really remember much except his dog's name was Duke, that's where he got that monicker.

I'll drink to that. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif I recently bought "Island in the Sky" and "The High and the Mighty" on DVD an they are two of the finest flying movies ever made. The original stories were written by the dean of avaition writers, Ernest K. Gann. The High and the Mighty is considered to be Hollywood's first "disaster/suspense" film and the later "Airport" series of movies are basically sequels to The High and the Mighty. If you are sick of what Hollywood dumps on us nowadays then go get one of these and watch it. The Duke at his (non-western) best.

He injured himself "body surfing" at a place called the Wedge off Newport Beach, CA. He lost his scholarship because of this incident.

Now, here's a couple for you: What was the name of his horse in the movie El Dorado..?? What was the first movie Maureen O'hara appeared in with the Duke and what was the last..??? bonus question...name the ones in between.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Tom is right...he hurt himself at the Wedge! He attended USC after playing at Glendale. He played tackle and was on a scolarship. He lost the scolarship after injuring himself at the Wedge.

At the time when he was body surfing there...you could run along the boardwalk which was on top of the jetty (on the sidewalk)...and at the right time...jump off the boardwalk and into the wave. That's how he hurt himself. Not long after that...they removed the sidewalk and put in a rock jetty.

After getting into acting and becoming successful one of his houses was just a few blocks away from the Wedge (right down the street from Dick Dale)...and he would still show up when the big swells hit...or you would see him cruising out of Newport Harbor in his boat, the Wild Goose!

Here's a little synopsis of what make the Wedge the Wedge

[ QUOTE ]
The Wedge is not a wave -- it's a 20-foot-plus meat grinder dreamed up by the devil himself. It heaves, bends and pulverizes in ways that good little waves aren't supposed to act. The first time you swim or paddle out on a solid day, a typical thought might be, "Dang, is my chiropractor covered in my medical plan?"

The Wedge is a combination of two waves that merge together, thrusting into a titanic slingshot that breaks with enough pounds per square inch to send Stone Cold Steve Austin to the mat. It takes a south swell only, refracting the swell energy off the jetty and creating a sideways wave that slings across the beach and mates with the next wave in the set. The result is what locals fittingly call a "humping effect," where the set waves jack, expand and release in unimaginable ways.

The key to a good Wedge wave is the right swell interval. If the interval is just right, the side wave will hit the main swell at the perfect moment, causing it to "wedge." Too short or too long an interval and the side wave will miss hitting the main peak. It's not uncommon to see skimboarders, spongers and bodysurfers catching the side wave before it collides, resulting in ozone-depleting aerials, monstrous tubes and insane wipeouts.

Although the Wedge is perhaps the best-known bodysurfing spot in the world, in recent years there's been an influx of stand-up surfers. What was once a novelty for guys like Danny Kwock back in the '80s is now serious business for pros like Strider Wasilewski, the Hobgood twins and a long list of other challengers. Part of the reason for the influx of hard goods is that the media -- both surf and mainstream -- have been persistent in recording all the action. Every summer, there's guaranteed to be a center spread of some hapless fool getting launched or a front-page shot on the Los Angeles Times of the Wedge at its nastiest. Despite the increased presence of fiberglass and foam, an alternative wave is best suited to an alternative approach, which is why bodysurfers still rule the place. In fact, they literally rule the place -- thanks to a serious lobbying effort by the local skull-cap crew, throughout the summer, no boards of any kind are allowed in the water except in the early morning and late evening. So if you're feeling suicidal, or just want to watch stand-up surfers and bodyboarders play demolition derby at one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles in Southern California, it's best to show up in the morning or late afternoon.

[/ QUOTE ]

And here's a picture of the famous Wedge wave...and yes...I was foolish enough to be on waves this big there! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif (Note: That wave is breaking in less than 3 feet of water...)

First film with Maureen O'Hara and the Duke was Rio Grande (1950)..this was part of Ford's cavalry trilogy...next came my favorite The Quiet Man, then Wings of Eagles, Mclintock, and the last one Big Jake. She was a true friend to the Duke for many years. When he was in his last days she spoke to Congress to ask that he receive the Congressional Gold Medal for his contribution to America. She was a class act then and is still one today.
