I've come across a 69 L89 block and I'd like to help reunite it with the car it came with from the factory. The stamping on the pad is T1003KG and there's a VIN by the oil filter.

If your 1969 L89 Chevelle is missing its original block... PM me with details and we'll determine whether it's yours. If so, I'll give you the owner's name and number.

Thanks for the heads-up! It's good of you to be on the look-out for someone else like that http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Helmet...

I expect you've tried running body style variations w/ the stamped Vin sequence through GM Canada Vintage Services already?.

This could be from an L-89 Elcamino originally too.
Very nice of you to offer this up this way.

Actually I haven't done that... I can't make out a couple of the numbers by the filter. Good idea, it's worth a try.

I'm afraid... people will pick it apart. The block has had some problems - its got two sleeves, and it's been decked a couple of thousandths but the stamping is still visible.

NOT...it's a beautiful thing!!!http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif.
I'm wondering if you should perhaps consider asking the mods to delete the Vin pic until you've exhausted efforts running whole Vin variations through Geo. V's group? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif.
I'm hoping it comes up as a Chevelle Post car!http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif.

Perhaps give the Vin stamping a shot of orange paint and lightly sand to help confirm the Vin?.

Cool stuff!.
