Hi guys,
I am the owner and seller of the Dick Harrell car. It is a great car. Why am I selling it? I bought it a little over a year ago from Kevin. He lives about 2 miles from me. At the time I was talking to him about advice on LS6 convertible I was interested in. That Convertible is the green survivor with no docs that is being auctioned now in Connecticutt. I backed out of that deal since it couldn't be backed up with any docs. In my conversations with Kevin, he offered to sell me this Camaro, assuming I might be interested in an LS6. I thought it was a great car so I bought it sight unseen. Kevin's reputation is such that you don't have to see his cars before buying as you know he is 100% legit. So, I bought the car and I've enjoyed it for the last year. I think I've put around 300 miles on it. But, frankly, '70's are not my passion. I want an early Yenko, and will likely be in Indianapolis bidding on the '67 from the Christenholtz (spelling?) collection. This car is truly beautiful, runs perfect, is obscenely powerful and is truly as rare and unique as teeth on a hen. I am not in a rush to sell it, but if it brings the right money, then its off to the next collector to enjoy. I have a number of cars, but my garage lacks the key words "YENKO". Anyone that has seen this car knows it is history on wheels.

Welcome aboard Paul. I was the previous owner that sold the car to Steve. It is a great car and totally original. If I am not mistaken Steve had the car Diamond cerified by Jeff Dotterer and if that is the case i would list that info in the auction. I could be thinking of the DH chevelle but i thought both were certified.

I believe you are thinking of the Chevelle. I had this Camaro run through the American Camaro Association's "Vintage Certification" program for Steve. It was judged at the GM Nationals and achieved "Legend" status. Don't recall the exact score, but I know it did very well. A cool original car for sure.

As a matter of fact there is. The 68 Chevelle mentioned in the previous post. Both cars are about as original as they get.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the welcome. I've been out most of the day, so just getting back to the computer now. As for Certification, that must be the Chevelle. The docs that Kevin gave me included a judging sheet, several pages, from a national Camaro show from when Steve Sandlin owned the car and it scored extremely high, but this isn't the same as a certification. If I were keeping it, I'd probably do that. Also, there's an affidavit from a guy that worked at Dick Harrell's shop, and of course, the best testament to the car's authenticity is all of you great guys that know the car! I have seen Kevin's '68 Chevelle and yes, it too is a time capsule. Of course, just about everything he has is among the finest examples of Super Car history anyone could ever see.

As for more photos, I will probably ask my wife to take some more detailed shots as people request specifics and such, but I figured the timing is good with the Muscle Car Review article being out right now. The photographer took probably over a hundred photos and in my opinion, some of the best ones never made the magazine. Oh well, that's their perogative to choose. I've got to run to take a conference call, but I hope to be more of a presence on the forum here, so thanks again for your well wishes!
