My brother got a visit yesterday from the Army his son was killed by a IED in Iraqi where he's been since Nov of 07.
I'm not sure of the details they only told my brother that he was kia.
I never even thought of him getting killed there I just knew he would make it back.
He was a great Son and Nephew.
His Mother told me yesterday that he asked her to send him hard candy so he could give it to the kids, you know if the world thought like that there would never be any world wars.
My nephew was a really great guy and I just want everyone to know that He sure will be missed.
I'm really proud to call him my Nephew http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Eddie -
My heart goes out to you and your family - esp your brother and his wife. Your nephew sounds like he was creme of the crop, and I agree, if the rest of the world acted and had the scruples of your nephew the idea of war would be foreign to us all...
God speed.

Eddie, So sorry to here that! My wife and I are part of the (FRG) Family Rediness Group at The National Guard Armory and when things like this happen it just never gets any easier to accept. Our men and women are just truly heros and I thank them every nite when I go to bed for keeping us safe and free. Truly he is in Gods hands and that is the best comfort we can have. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

We too often forget what it is to be free until some one we know pays the ultimate price. These sacrifices by our brave men and women are surely under scored by many, but felt by all. My heart felt condolences go out to you and your brothers family. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Thank you Everyone.
We learned yesterday that not only he but three others were killed also and they had all trained together here.
Our prayers go out to them and their familys as well.
They have not been able to tell us exactly when he will be home just that it could take 4 days to 2 weeks as he will be going to Germany for an autopsy first.
Thanks again Everyone for your prayers and thoughts.

There are too many threads titled "Sad News" lately. So sorry to hear this Eddie. It sounds like this young man was made from the same stuff we've seen in you and Donna.

Hope you can all find some comfort in knowing he's being rewarded now and forever. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

You're in our hearts and prayers.

Eddie, so sorry to hear about this tragic happening. I would like to extend condolences from my family here and back in Illinois. I know it has to be tough on waiting for him to be returned so he can properly be laid to rest. He will be spoken about with other Heros names as that is what he is.

Thanks everyone,He was laid to rest right next to his sister who had passed away in 1990 of leukemia at the age of fourteen. My brother and his wife now have one daughter left.
Its been really hard on them but they do still have a lot of faith even through all this.
Thanks again for the support and prayers.
