Since I found my old pictures I thought I would post some of them here. Many of the pictures were taken at a car show in a park in Cedar Rapids, which I donīt remember the name of.

A 1967 disc-brake Nova. I bought the original 4-speed shifter and SS steeringwheel centercap from the owner of this car.

This car was parked one morning outside US Nameplate Co on Hwy 30 west, Mt Vernon. I believe it was a Texas car. Dick got it running after an hour, but it was obvious that the 283 engine was all gone.

This 1969 Torina Cobra used to sit in the parkinglot outside the apartment we rented. We never met the guy who owned it.

And this was the "Bluesmobile" we borrowed from Marty Hayes. We made some one-wheel burnouts with it thanks to the big-inch engine in it.

Looks like that "Boat" is docked with its stern in the "channel".

They had also lots of Classic Chevys and lots of grass growing. I remember being told which plants not to step on.

Did you ever have any luck tracking down that ZL1 block that you guys had purchased from this area back then...or find your numbers notes?.

I had one of those 76/77 Montes for a while.. One day I came upon a buddy traveling the same direction on the hiway and as per the custom between the boys back then, bopped that big Monte bumper into the back of his '80 Honda Civic at about 70 Mph!. I pulled up beside him in the passing lane laughing as I knew from his swerve after the impact that I'd taken him by surprise...you can imagine how quickly I stopped laughing when I looked into the driver's window and an angry stranger's face!.

On highway 30 between Marshalltown (where I live) and Cedar Rapids there use dto be a Clark station which had an auto garage across the highway. I can remember seeing two winged Mopars which used to sit there.....Today, the only thing which sits outside of this building are some old dumptrucks. That is the vacinity where a Yenko Chevelle is rumored to be rotting in a farmer's ditch-- sans front clip. Haven't been able to lay eyes on it myself, or get the exact directions to it (this is absolutely necessary in our neck of the woods)....but do have a friend who claims to know right where it is. Some friend, huh!It is hard for me to believe that there was so much supercar steel within a 100 mile radius....wish I could travel back in time!
