I got a couple books of matches from the local store recently and when I opened the cover I read these words:

" Instructions Firmly grasp individual match, keeping fingers away from the igniting tip. After liberating said match from its confinement, assure that your matchbook cover is closed. Briskly strike the tip across the provided strikeplate on the backside of your matchbook to facilitate ignition of said match. Repeat when necessary. Flame good.
For more information, go to www.sfntc.com (http://www.sfntc.com) "

They were manufactured by D.D. BEAN & Sons in Jaffery, NH 03452.

What the HECK is that?!?!?!? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

They DD Bean and sons is one of the largest matchbook making company in US... they make about 10 million matchbooks per day. It really is an amazing operation.

Lawyers yes, but what the heck is with the wordage??? "After liberating said match from its confinement," No true blooded American (not even a lawyer) would word it that way!!! Seems to be some Asian legal translation. Man, is that stupid!
Americans just don't use the words "liberate" and "confinement" when they talk about "removing" and "package".
Sheeeesh........... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
