Fly eye air cleaner listed on ebay 250217838792 goes for over $676 dollars and does not meet reserve. You gotta see this. I realize it may be the only one in existence still in the package, but WOW. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I need one bad, but not that bad!!

He even admitted that his reserve price was "stupid," as in stupid high. He also said that if it didn't meet reserve it goes back into his collection never to be offered again. Sounds like he was just fishing for a deep-pockets bidder. Keep watching eBay now that this one hit $600. Guys will dig out their "mint" fly-eyes and list them hoping to get $500 and sell.

I have seen 3 different styles of the fly eye and was wondering which one is correct. One with a snap ring on top. Another with some type of retaining ring and the third with a squeeze screw on the side. Thank you, Tom.

we talked this over on another thread, looks like the clamp style was early, then the snap ring then the wire ring..as for exact dates??..still up in the air.

The bracket on the eBay CP unit looks like it would be really easy to make and it'll be hidden inside the unit anyway. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Do any aftermarket companies make the "fly eye" air cleaner?

Thanks in advance,

Nope..They havent been around since the early eightys. CP products had them I believe last..you see them by MR gasket in motion catalogs in 1972.I have a CP catalog from 1988 and they wernt in there anymore. I have them new old stock from a speed shop buyout.Been selling them here for 250.00 with hardware.. I had the hardware made from the original CP air cleaners.Nobody makes these now or in the last 20 years.
As a matter of fact I have all three styles..the early with the chrome band around with the bolt (first model)then the one with the flat locking ring and the later with the bumped locking ring.
The first two are more $$$ due to the rarity and the fact I only have one of each. Thats the scoop..hope it helps..Mike.
