Hi, a friend of mine has an m22 for sale. Said it was built by B&M transmissions and came out of a '69 motion camaro. It is painted red white and blue and has an aluminum B&M emblem on top of the case. and I was told the synchros were machined so you could shift without a clutch. I was wondering if this was an option through motion or if this is just an m22 that was reworked by B&M. Any info would be appreciated. I am seriously considering it for my big block Nova. Thanks!!!

Many drag racers machined most of the teeth off the synchros (leaving just a few evenly spaced) and turned them into "crash boxes". Don't know how those would work out on the street...

Were the transmissions in Baldwin Motion cars modified? Is there any way I can tell if this was really from a BM car? The transmission was in a pro street 69 camaro with an LS-7. It did shift fine on the street. Would I damage it if I used it like one of these "crash boxes"? I think his asking price for the whole set up is fair so, I may just pick it up. Thanks again!
