The 55 year old pilot used to make $500,000.00 a year, before they fired him because of this last month.
A 200 million dollar 777,only 28 feet off the ground @ 328MPH with company execs inside as well. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

As far as the video goes, here is the disclaimer:

THIS IS NOT THE ORIGINAL VIDEO THAT POSTED TO YOUTUBE. That video was pulled. This is just a different version of the same event to show what transpired

Aren't you supposed to do the fly by when the corp exec's are standing by runway waiting for you to land?

request a fly by (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eW23SS0zEnY&feature=related)

buzz the wrong tower (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGGhLihDmFk)

ex Navy Fighter pilot in a BIG plane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vJliayH6co&feature=related) I once flew from GITMO to Norfolk with this pilot. Most of us would have prefered to walk.

That 757 flyby reminded me when Boing introduced it in the early eighties. I was then working for the domestic airlines in Sweden and Boing was on a promotional tour with the 757. They did a similar flyby over the cityairport in Stockholm were Scandinavian Airlines had its headoffice then. We were standing on top of a catering truck that we had lifted to maximum height. A few seconds after the flyby we were almost thrown of the roof of the truck when the gusts came after the plane. We were about 30 ft above the ground, that fall would have hurt.

Here is a video of a Swedish Airforce pilot who got fired recently for this. The Airforce headboss saw it on youtube too. Quite a low flyby, brave guys onn the ground.

Military pilots have been goofing-off like that since before WWI. With the YouTube generation, where everybody has some kind of camera on their person at all times, this time-honored goofing-off can now be spread all over the planet in a matter of hours, including to the commander's desktop computer. Just like the Abu Gharaib prison scandal in Iraq a few years ago, prison guards have been abusing prisoners for centuries but now their buddies capture it on digital cameras and cell phones and e-mail it everywhere and soon the whole world can see what's going on. OOPS! Think twice before filming something! Think once again before e-mailing it!

As for the 777 captain who buzzed the Boeing runway, the news accounts I read said that Cathay Pacific did fire him. In reality, since he was very senior, they may have just forced him to retire early.
