Can you tell me the GM part number that is on the crate and how was it stored? Have you had a chance to look inside the motor? Thanks,

A LS-7 454's Part # is "3965774". Hopefully, that's what is on the wooden crate.

heres a data sheet on this motor.
XCH is still attached to the oil pan in the form of a gm sticker. along with a warning tag. " use ONLY 100 octain gas or higher" along with the valve lash numbers
