We've all lost an incredible talent...hard to believe he was only 41!.
He was here in Peterboro' just last summer and I was lucky to catch his first concert at the Gardens back in the 80's too...always impressive!.
Thanks Jeff...RIP..

Wow, that is terrible. he was an amazing talent.
I did not realize he was that young. I am in shock and at a loss for words.

my thoughts are with his family and friends.

"I thought you'd be bigger".
He was only 23 when he did the sound track for this classic.

Kim Mitchell is from Sarnia. I have relatives from there also.

Have any of you Canadian guys heard of a small band called "The Speds"? They play in and around southern Ontario bars, Windsor area as well as the Lake Erie Islands-Put In Bay & Kellys Islands.. My cousin lives in Harrow, Ontario and grew up on Pelee Island. She went to high school with a couple of the band members. I heard these guys play a couple of years ago at the Roundhouse on Put In Bay and they were incredible!! Very Good band!! They played alot of classic rock and did it very well, Journey, Rush, Uriah Heep, Boston etc... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Sorry to Hi Jack the thread here....

Got a phone call from Pete yesterday and he mention Jeff's passing. Way too talented to not hear from him more. Way too young to go!!! RIP Jeff!

Kim Mitchell.... Big time flashback. What was it.. '84, '85 when that song came out. Gosh, know I am starting to get geezer status with the music I grew up with. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

I knew you guys would know of Jeff Healey but am surprised many non-Canadians would be into the Kim Mitchell/Max Webster stuff...amazing!.
Back in the 70's before Rush was well known we used to go see them play at the Oshawa Civic Center w/ Max Webster as their opening act...I think the group Wireless was up first if you've ever heard of them?.
Saw Webster and Mitchell alone at different venues over the years too...Muskoka's Key to Bala for one also the old arena in Minden Ontario when they reunited as Webster for a short bit...man that 'High Class in Borrowed Shoes' was a great tune!.

Bummed about Healey...hard to believe!.

It's always hard to see talented people pass on. Even more so at the young age of 41.
Cancer's a tough foe for sure...

Saw Max Webster a number of times in the later 70's with RUSH.
I still remembers RUSH's first album with 3 greasy guys on the back cover.
On the same side of the cover were the imortal words "for best result play at maximum volume" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

I love that!

Have seen every tour since signals (I was 16 then). The current tour, which I saw and am going to see again, is maybe their best ever. I advise all who are even moderate fans to see it. It could be there last.

That's the one...great tune and story!.

Been years since I've put much thought to Rush music and anything I have of their's would be vinyl...or those giant-size CD's as my kids call them!.

Growing up near and spending time in Toronto, I always liked the tune Lakeside Park...the midway lights of the Ex in the background and thinking of Geddy & the boys hangin' around that old Lancaster bomber mounted on the pier...recently removed and now being restored..

Wow the Ex, I have not been to that in about twenty years. that old lancaster was cool. remember the old Flyer roller coaster.

I saw Rush on their 20 anniversiry at the Gardens the hip opened for them , it was an amazing night. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yep the old Flyer...and the Wild Mouse!.
I haven't been to the Ex for at least 25 years but sure had some great times there as a kid in the 60's/70's!.

And the Hip...man there's another great Canadian band!.
Remember when New Orleans flooded a few years ago and the Hip's sinking tune was removed from radio play lists for a while?.
I saw them first at some small joint in Kingston before they were well known also later at the Amphitheatre when they became successful...the Hip rocks!.
