Bill, the only freind I have that would drive all those hours with me lives where your El Camino came from. In fact my buddy called my wife a half hour after I picked up the El Camino and said that he tried talking me out of buying it. Then he said that the condition of the vehicle should not be a reflection of the fine people of his town. Yeh thats my buddy.

Albert, Congrats on the spectacular job you did on my old car that is suddenly looking like one that oughta still be in my garage. It's freezin' cold, snowin' and blowin' here in Erie today, just like the day we dragged the old hulk out of that junk filled garage in Tonawanda, NY. In retrospect, the guy was a half or less legit speed shop merchant working out of his house and had some old signage and display stuff piled around the garage that I didn't even try to score. My only goal after I saw the build sheet and the block was to load that car and get outa there before he changed his mind on me like he had done with others in the past. Great car now with the right owner.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, i'm surprised by the lengh of the article but very pleased to get some good press finally.Its taken me a while to respond as I am in Fla helping my Dad out.The good news is helping me deal with some family health issues with both my Dad here in fla where I am now and with my 98 YO Grandmother back in NJ. Both will be OK but it has been difficult to deal with the logistics of trying to be in two places at the same time with a 1000 miles separating the twn.ONce again thanks for the kind words and look forwad to seeing some of you in Chicago in April
