Can anyone here recommend a reliable and reasonably priced freight shipper? I have a rear end I want to ship and UPS Freight is quoting me $1135.00 to the west coast. That just sounds completely rediculous. Is that a hose job quote or is that ball park? Thanks for helping a freight noob out
Thanks,
Matt

Give me the dimensions, weight, and Zip codes (from and to) and I will see what the cost is with my discount.

Matt,

If it will fit in a Greyhound Bus luggage area, you can
get some really reasonable rates. You drop it off at
Greyhound and the receiver gets it from a Greyhound depot
near them.....

Nuch

Drain any fluids, securely strap it to a pallet and ship it www.forwardair.com. (http://www.forwardair.com.) You will have to take it there and it will need to be picked up at the other end but it is cheap. Check their site.

yep I use them all the time, it should ship for about 200 bucks, make your own pallet sheet of plywood and 2 two by fours, drill holes around the rear end and tie it down with a bander or rope, it has to be coverd with a box cant be shipped open, a couple custom cut carboard boxes to cover it I cut them to hang on the side and screw the carboard to the 2 by fours with washers a little tape in the middle to hold it looking good and they will check it in, if it looks to hokey they will send you home, takes me a couple hours to pallet something and a dumpster dive at the furniture store,lol... and your done. also dont make it any longer or taller than you have to, your paying for the space as well as weight!!!!!!

I recently had a rollbar shipped from MO to Al and I believe it cost around 80 bucks. He guy I bought it from used R+L Carriers. Once he called them (thats another story) they were Johnny on the spot... Boom, 18 wheeler at my door in three days if I remember correct. The truck driver even called to give me an ETA. It was on a pallet with some other parts. I was impressed with R+L.
