Attorney General Pushed to Probe Gas Prices Here (http://www.easthamptonstar.com/dnn/Home/News/GasPrices/tabid/4954/Default.aspx)
Need to save gas without changing motors. I guess I'll start lightening the car. Heavy glass and backseat go first. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
It went up 40 cents a gallon this morning. It is just soooo wrong for a few small Middle Eastern Countries to have so much control over the entire World. I would really like to see the US stand up for a change and flat out tell them NO, we will not pay that much...we will TAKE the oil!!!!

When President Bush started office, Gas was 1.45 a gallon around here...... (not trying to start a political debate, just stating a fact)

Are you kidding me? No wonder why so many people hate Americans. The price of oil these days has very little to do with OPEC and everything to do with the commodity market combined with the value of the US dollar.

Went to get gas this morning and was going to stop at the local Speedway. I see the regular, 87 octane unleaded gas price at $3.29 a gallon. The place was packed so I figure forget it. I drive a half mile down the road and stop at Sunoco who show regular, 87 octane at $2.99 a gallon. Needless to say I pulled in and filled up at the Sunoco.
I'm sorry, as far as I am concerned Speedway is a DAMN JOKE!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif Their gas prices are no bargain. I think that goes for that Sheetz also.. Sometimes you can get a good gas price at Sheetz but you have to watch... And that Giant Eagle "Get Go" gas is total garbage!! I call it "Get Nowhere." My Father used to run that garbage in his Dodge Ram truck with a 318. I borrowed his truck to tow my car in an enclosed car trailer last summer. That thing was knocking and pinging so bad that the engine knock sensor activiated which triggered the check engine light.. The truck was sluggish also while pulling!! REAL JUNK!!! I didn't originally know that was what he was running until I later called and asked him.. He has since switched gas.. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
I have to agree with the other comment posted above, as much as I supported President Bush, the gas prices are rediculous and there is definately a common link there between the two!!
THATS MY .02 cents!! OK, I will jump off my soapbox now!!

Neither do I but saying that you are just going to 'take' another countries commodity not only disrespects a sovereign state but also goes against the capitalist way of life which the world owes a great deal of thanks to the U.S.A. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
BTW - Exxon recently reported a profit of 9.2 billion dollars for the last quarter which is the largest amount of profit recorded by any company anywhere in the world ever! Maybe the high cost of gas lies within the USA.

President was told during a news conference last week that gas was averaging $3.29 nationwide (I think--somewhere in there) and he looked genuinely surprised and a little flummoxed. Granted, elites (Bushes and Kennedys alike) have no idea what the rest of us have to deal with in our daily lives but you would think that the oil guys we elected in 2000 and 2004 would have an idea what is going on in the industry and the daily lives of Americans.
Halliburton is doing well. Oil industry profits are skyrocketing. Dare I say "mission accomplished."
$4 a gallon is going to look GREAT a year from now.
Oh well, out to the garage! The wrenches, rags and cold floor are waiting!

With little manufacturing left in the U.S. to invest in speculators have to invest their money in something else to turn a buck. That something just happens to be oil. We cant do without it and speculators are taking advantage of the situation. Not much different than investing in gold, land speculation or the banking industry. They're just in it for the bucks. And they're making a killing doing it.

I am not sure the price of gas is a reflection of our middle east friends. I think it is all here in the USA, or should I say with USA people. I am going to blame Chuckie in Coin Etticut! He has control of all the car parts and racing decals now.......its the oil! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif

Have you checked what Exxon and others are doing with their profits. Sounds like they are buying up all their outstanding stocks that they can get their hands on. Might be wrong as I'm no stock market expert.

Man, I just think when some joker can pay 14 million for a license plate, they are making a killing on the oil prices. The top C.E.O.'s of this country are getting way too much money too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a capitalist society, but where does it end? With the guy that has to buy a tank or two of gas a week los...NEVER MIND!!!!!! Record high oil prices today. I am pretty sure that per barrel price puts billions in the pockets of the Middle Eastern Countries.

Capitalism out of control, thats what it is. The system needs an overhaul. Speculators shouldn't be controlling the prices at the pump. Why are we bailing out the mortgage industry? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Bingo! We have the correct answer. Democrats AND Republicans (no discernible difference there), will not let us drill for, and use our own oil. You don't like high oil prices? then become active and rise up to administer a political "bitch slap" to the so called environmentalists, who are responsible for this mess.
I'm no fan of the oil companies either, but the first order of business is to re-establish a steady supply of oil while we build Nuclear power plants like crazy.

The same thing that happened to the mortgage industry can happen to the oil industry. Again. Remember when gas dropped to $1.00 a gallon? Bubbles burst. When demand drops due to high prices, and inflation isn't held back, you have "stagflation" like we have now. If the Fed does their job of keeping the interest rates in check, the recession will be short lived, as what happened when Bush Sr. left office and Clinton took over.
A quick geo-political observation: Bin Laden may be crazy, but he's not stupid. We drove the Soviets into financial implosion with their war in Afganistan. (With Bin Ladens help). Now we have a war where he's trying to do the same thing to us to us. The hidden costs of this war have helped to produce a record deficit, which can lead to a financial depression if not kept in check. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif JMHO

Demand for gasoline in the US has actually declined about 1% over last year's rate (Lundberg Letter?). Global demand however, has continued to rise. Csaba Csere in Car & Driver magazine has an excellent article illustrating the pickle that we are in regarding fuel prices, look for the issue with the 08' Challenger on the cover.
On the brighter side, once the rest of the world realizes that the myriad of bundled subprime mortgage investments we've been unloading on them are worthless, global demand will indeed decline as they begin to realize that they aren't so wealthy either . By that time, our dollar could be on par with the peso though. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I filled up there, late one night when it was poor visibility. 3 years ago it was at $3.78/Gal. We had 1/2 tank but the better half said to fill up no matter the cost as she didnt want to run out with the weather so bad. Nice little place but man oh man the prices were killer then and only got worse
