This Nova is Fathom grn with green deluxe int it has 19k original miles, original interior and all original sheet metal. It was sold new at Brigance Chevrolet I have all dealer paper work including window sticker. The only original drivetrain that is left is the rear end housing. I am selling the car as body only. I actually took it for a ride today and the car rides just like it did when it was brand new the doors close perfect and solid all gaps are very nice the paint job is incredible painted in 2001 and hasnt been on the street much since then there is still minor trim work to be installed outside and in the interior but will cost nothing every thing is there.
I would consider trading it for a very nice 69 Camaro paperwork doesnt matter but want a very nice car preferably set up for a big block. Price is 36,500.00
For more info on the car and pictures go to muscle car discussion and go to details 69 Nova 19k miles.

Hey Shoney, are ya related to the salesperson? I think I remember you telling me that your family tree grew sideways http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif

John: by "I am selling the car as body only" do you mean that you're keeping the engine/trans in the car, or just emphasizing the non-original engine/trans status of the car? You mention driving it, so I'm just trying to understand correctly...

ssl78

I am going to take the engine and trans out of the car and sell just the body.

I expect we are related. Hell, if Cheny and Obama are related, we're a lock. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Let's see, buy the car for $36,500 or so, add spare
NOS L-88 from 427King for another $10,500, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif throw in a M-22 for another $1,500.00 to $2000.00
and you have a real car with docs but NOM and Trans for around $50k. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Then slap the Cragars on it and cruise. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Chuck I thought it was a 272 block if so I have one dated very close to the car. Thats my other option.

John, 854 if its a CE works best is what i meant , then again i dont know when the car was built either, so a 272 CE can work too..272 for sure if its a JH and built before June 69

Sounds like a great car at a fair price to me and I would definitely build an L78 motor for the car if it were mine. If it were any other color I'd be all over this car - nothing against Green guys, it's just a personal preference http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Nice car, I would sonic test the 272 block and take it to 427 std. bore if it will go that far, then I would contact Stefano about the perfect trans for that car. John if you have the right block for the car why don't you put it together and sell it as a complete car?

"John if you have the right block for the car why don't you put it together and sell it as a complete car"?
2 reasons the car is a 09B of 68 car and the engine is a I 14 8 block if it was just 2 weeks earlier it would be perfect. Second I really have two many projects going right now, but if I have to put it on the back burners I will.
Chuck whats the date of your september engine I would be interested if it was first couple days of Sept. I will give you a call.
What vin number did 69 Novas start at this has to be one of the first 69s I think

John, i have seen a real early 69 that used a 440 block..probably not real common though as there are aug 68 272s out there ill have to check the dates on the early motors i have .

John, was this "Merrit M. Lovett" related to the "Merrit M. Lovett" from Oak Park that played one major league ball game in the '30's??? His son perhaps...or the car was put in Dad's name when new???
