Here's the story, this badboy was caught on Rainy Lake. New Canadian Record! This guy was fishing and caught a 36" pike. As he was reeling it in a 56" pike tried to eat it!!(see picture 3). He already had the net ready so he scooped up both of them in the same net!, im sure that was a task in itself. I would think that would have been the only way he would have caught him. Nobody would expect a fish like that to be there so who would increase their test to land something like this. Awesome catch on a river in Canada 55lbs-56"

I can't believe the bigger pike tried to eat the smaller one http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
No way it could tear the smaller one apart. They are swollowers,
not chewers. On a similar note, I once saw
a large mouth bass eat a baby mallard right in front of
me. I couldn't believe my eyes http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Nuch

mean sob's the Pike...the In Fishermen TV show get's into remote lakes way up into Canada and wack them monsters, many times they will have a pig on and almost to the boat and bigger one will climb on like this one did...I hope someday to make that treck and catch and release some of them monsters from the north... we get get Ling Cods that will do the same ..you hooka 3 lb sea bass and a ling will bite it and not let go, as long as you dont lift his head out of the water you can net him, lift it out and he's gone like the wind...good eats!!!

Ya ive had some good struggles with a few pike, or jackfish as we called them when i was young. They make for great fishing and lots of good fishing stories. I was wondering where Rainy lake is as i've never heard of it. But it does look like a Canadian fish http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Let me see if I can say this right. This fish was caught by a friends working partners friend. I think that's it. Anyway, yes it was put back for someone else to have fun with on another day.
