[/ QUOTE ] And around 80K over invoice...Think about it. A 08 gt500 stickers at around 47K. The new KR stickers at 60K plus or minus as per the ford websites. The gt500s went for 15K over sticker when new[compared to the KR at more than DOUBLE sticker price] and now are around 3-5K over sticker new. Ford limits production of the KR to 1000, while there were 9000 gt500s made in both 07 and 08. Because of the limited production the dealers want 80K over invoice. If Ford made 8000 KRs theyd get the 13K over the gt500s and theyd sell them ALL , so why limit production so that only the dealers will cash in on the rarity, while ford limits the profit they can make? They said they were upset at delaers gouging on the gt500s, so i guess this is thier solution ??? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif They are certainly beautiful cars

MSRP is @ $82k I have offers of $50-$55k over sticker from Brokers who will then add markup. Somewhere in $130k range buys it! I would rather see someone buy the car other than a broker. I have some interesting trades on the table but no deal yet! Thanks for the space SYC.

My only question on the KRs, is you can take a gt500 and "supersnake" it at the Las Vegas Shelby Building with 720HP option for 23K, that means youd have a car that is better and 100 plus more HP than the KR for 75K less,in fact they offer the supersnakle package FOR the KR as well,it costs less because alot of the KR parts are on the supersnakle option list ,so if you supersnake option a KR and a gt500 you end up with the same car except when you start with a gt500 its around 85K less in the end http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I dont understand that one yet.

I'm with Stu- not bashing at all but 82k + 55k = 137k?

I've got my 2008 KR on the way, order confirmed etc., black with matte black stripes http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif Won't be for sale, however...have a spot next to the black Ford GT all ready for it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Keeping my fingers crossed that Ford actually gets these built, have been some very convincing rumors to the contrary citing problems with Shelby actually performing etc.

[/ QUOTE ] You cant blame anyone for wanting what everyone else wants price wise, but lets face it,the only place the market is going on a new car is DOWN DOWN DOWN ....Name one car made in the last 20 years that was a good investment regardless of its "limited" production. The 07 500s were 20K over sticker, you can now get a new 08 for right around sticker. Im trying to figure out why chevy deakers arent gouging customers 60K over sticker like the ford delaers have gotten good at. One local dealer took 75[yes 75] $10,000 deposits on a 07 gt500 and didnt even give anyone a sales price , i called and they said the higher i bid the further up the list i moved even though 60 people before me had put up 10K, now thats integrity. They made more money off the interest on the deposit money than they did on the car

There was a brand new metallic blue with silver stripe KR parked in the Shelby lot yesterday, wasn't a prototype so one KR is built. I ordered a new 2008 GT 500 this week Vapor silver with no stripes and had my Supersnake deposit in last summer. Won't pay the dealer markup for a 540 HP KR it's ridiculous, it's 40 HP more than a stock GT 500 with some suspension tweaks and badges? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

427king
03-14-2008, 11:29 PM
Good luck with the 500...thats the way to go,and they are now at sticker price which is a great bargain. The KR is beautiful as well but there is no way i would take a KR at the price of THREE gt500s !!!!! Ive also heard people are having big problems with the LV shop and getting thier cars back, and those that are are having major malfunctions so be careful... In the end the stock 500HP gt500 is alot of car right out of the box

Chuck, same goes for you. You have listed 10's of thousands of dollars worth of stuff on this site and what have you donated?

This is where $hit gets sold. The buyers are here, not on those sleepy websites where there are circle jerks with three casts offs. The guys that come here to post for sale ads should part with more than lint from their pockets.

Hi Bob (aka SUPERSPORT),

Thanks for your concern about my KR. It is a confirmed order through Ford's VIP program. I am sure you are familiar with this as you are a dealer, correct? I will be getting my car 2nd qtr of 2008 at MSRP delivered through the VIP program at my local dealer. As you know, Ford is very particular as to who gets these deals and in return for this they have buyers sign a "no flip" agreement stating they will keep the car for a minimum of 60 months. That's 5 years. So until at least 2013 I will have a KR in my garage. If you remember the Ford GT VIP program requested only a 24 month hold, which I passed January of this year. But I have no plans to sell that car either.

Sorry to interrupt your war with Chuck and Frank http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Oh, and I agree with everybody here - you should consider making a HEALTHY donation to the SYC. You run a ton of ads here and I don't see you posting that much in other forums than the "cars for sale" one. As you know, I am also a dealer and I bet I haven't posted more than 5 cars for sale in at least as many years here on this site. But, I enjoy this site so much and appreciate what it does for our hobby that I choose to SPONSOR it which costs far more than the $25.00 minimum donation. I am sure the Clarys would LOVE to have Extreme Classics on board as a sponsor, you'll get a nice little banner ad and your own forum. In no way as this meant to be critical or an attack, just an observation from somebody who has been watching this thread unfold.

I would also suggest the same for fellows like Patrick Krook who frequently post cars for sale here and do quite well using the SYC board to advertise and happen to be dealers or brokers. Maybe a minimum $100 donation per car sold via SYC or something?

If you notice, the two dealers who actually sponsor this site (Nickey Chicago, Stefano Bimbi; and myself) are the two guys who have the most to sell but post the least. Kinda odd, don't you agree? We also post reguarly in other sections because we live, eat and breathe musclecars and consider this place a second home at times.

Just some food for thought.

Best regards,

Interesting observation Colin.

Fact...The Yenko site has been up and running for over 10 years, and in that time, the folks who have made the most profit by utilizing this site have contributed the least to its' upkeep. Some of the club's best supporters have never listed a car for sale on here.

We have looked at changes in the way we operate, but so far nothing that we feel is fair to all, and at the same time best for the site. We are always open to suggestions.

Until we can come up with something different, I would encourage members to only support our sponsors and other members. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

You registered in 2001, you have over 300 posts, and you can't donate a small fee for site support. I don't know you and I don't know your business, but as an outsider looking in it doesn't shed good light on your operation or character to act this way, especially with the quality of people and wallett size that graze here. Keeping this at the top is not in your best intrest, IMO.

And your reputation/credibility near the bottom http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
There are a lot of Chicago people on this site, who are asked for opinions about dealers ALL THE TIME....

1. Fill out your profile better so we know who we are dealing with
2. Pay up for at least a membership, you skinflint
3. Try not to be abrasive "You get more bees with honey than with vinegar!"
