Marty Schorr's 1 of 1 Baldwin-Motion Iso Grifo

I read about a dozen car mags a month, but Sports Car Market is not a magazine I normally read.
My thanks to Marty for alerting me that he had written them regarding his Baldwin-Motion Iso Grifo. I didn't know a Baldwin-Motion example existed.
The Iso Grifo was a very limited production vehicle to begin with, being produced for only 10 years beginning in '65. I was only aware of a 327 engine choice, but I see by Marty's letter there were also models built with a 427. With it's alloy body the small block powered version was a rocket to say the least!
The sophistication of an exotic Italian designed body with Chevy punch - WOW!
Marty's example looks pristine and is so much more - what an awesome and unique car!
Here is an excerpt of his note:

[b]I took delivery of this car from Baldwin Chevrolet, had it sent over to Joel Rosen at Motion Performance. He made some mods, dyno-tuned it, badged it and when Zora Duntov sent me (at Motion) a brand new LT-1 350/370 Corvette engine, Joel and Bill Mitchell swapped it in place of the original 327. The heads were done by Dennis Ferrara who drove the Gen II Baldwin-Motion A/MP Camaro.
I still have the original bill of sale from Baldwin, original MSO and a full documentation letter from Joel. The keys are still on the original Motion Supercar Club key fob!
Regards,
Marty

Marty's ISO GRIFO was in one of the 70s magazines.
He also had a Ford powered street rod.

------Very CQQL sound from Iso!!! I would love to duplicate that. The big-block Iso ought to be fairly easy to spot if it still has that high-rise hood on it. That thing ought to be an animal.........Bill S

Here's a photo of the LT1 engine--Marty said those are the original LT1 valve covers..
The Motion badging is on the inner side of the fender under the hood---you can't see it in this photo...Very http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif......http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii145/PICCARY/MOTION350LT1ISOGRIFO.jpg

you crazy? It's nice but dosen't look like a Motion car. Now if you jack it up, put on some Ansens with L60s, 67 corvette sidepipes and scoop, and a big wing on the back, then you have a Motion Iso http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think it's the nicest looking Motion car ever built - don't ruin it with all that catalog crap! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Whttp://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gifW!!!.
I knew these cars were SB powered but never heard of any Motion modified ones much less any Mk1V's?.

Similar design but not as sleek, I dragged a rusty Jensen Interceptor home about 20 years ago...440-4Bbl, not an SP or FF but still in my buddy's barn last time I looked..
