How can you tell a original Dual Snorkel from a Repro? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I have heard that there are notches along the seam of the snorkel on the originals while the repros are a solid seam; if that makes sense.

They don't...but not all the original GM ones did either.

LOL...I have two with the notches and one without. One of the ones w/notches came with my 74 Camaro but doesn't have the bumps to fit over the holley fuel bowels. The other two have the bumps for the bowels and other than the notches look alike. What else should I look for?

Rust, pits, bent snorkels, dents, etc...funny but true! Those are usually things I associate with an original... The repro's haven't been around that long, and were bought for restored cars, so its unlikely to find them that look like they've been abused for 30 years. Almost as odd as finding an original that's in nice shape.

Look for one with a faded GM decal.
