This is a real and rare original stamped L89 shortblock that has never been apart and still has all of the pieces still intact. The block is standard bore and turns over very nicely and has clean cylinder walls with no lip on them. The block casting number is 3955272 and is dated H-19-8 but did not go through the line until T0219KG which is February 19th of 1969. The vin number for the chevelle is also still intact on the front pad. This is real and I will stand behind this shortblock as the real thing and not a restamp. I'm asking $8500 for this one of only 311 approximately made aluminum headed chevelles in 1969 model year. I can ship this item if you cannot pick it up. You can reach me at 330-770-2517 Dennis Vugrinovich.

You could be correct. I was told it was around that number so I put in the add approximately but if you have the correct amount I would love to know the answer to it.

Is your block casted early like this one is too by any chance or is it a little tighter?

you know,
it would be really neat to try and find that l89 chevelle that came with your engine.
have you tried searching with your vin number?

I don't know who or how I would find the car? Any suggestions? The casting date on your block should be under the middle freeze plug on the passenger side of the block. If not it is on the back of the block on the bellhousing flange.

This guy says the car was an original L-89 car per the buildsheet. It does not have the original motor anymore and he is asking $69K http://www.almeidasclassiccars.com/

Just called on that one and the vin number was not close to the vin of the one I have but looks like a good one if it has the real paperwork with it.

Dennis, I'd be glad to check it against my research lists and see if I have it listed. PM me or I can be reached at [email protected]. I don't release any info without owner approval. Additionally, if anyone else has 1969 Chevelle data (Vins, Trim tags, Documents, etc) and they would like to contribute to my research please contact me. Thanks Take it easy, Andy

I appreciate that very much. I'm at work at the moment but I will get you the information. I would love to see this get back to the original car. This is a rare piece and in excellent shape.
