Looking for reference pixs of the `70 Chevy Chevelle SS "Baldwin Motion" 454 Phase III car. Did it really exist or is it a urban myth. I`ve found numberous pixs of diecast replicas however; pixs of the "Real Deal" 1:1 cars seem to be non-existant. My usual on-line muscle car research sites have turned up only one supposable true Chevy Phase III `70 "Baldwin" Chevelle SS 454 car.
By chance would someone have reference pixs or suggestions where I can aquire additional reference pixs.
P.S.
I found this qoute on a car enthusist sites I frequently haunt for material:
"The '70 Chevelle was also the only year with a 4-way headlight system... but you're wrong about the rarest being the convertible. For there is one rarer. It's the Baldwin Motion Chevelle... I've never seen one but they do exist... somewhere."
Were they that rare.

I know there are three 1970 BM Chevelles documented by Joel Rosen. Two are forest green and one is white. There may be a couple of others that I don't know about. If you look in the "American Muscle Car" book you can see the 4-speed Forest Green car that was owned by Otis Chandler at one time.

Thanks for the reply COPO.
I`ll see if I can fine the "American Muscle Car" book...by chance do you recall who the author/publisher was. Additonally, do you (or anyone for that matter) steer me to any other picture reference sources of this "RARE" COPO car.
Thanks again

That would be Randy Leffingwell. I don't think the 70 Chevelle would be a COPO.

You don`t thinks it`s a COPO...humm.
Ok, is it correct when we discribe it as a Baldwin Motion 454 Stage III car.

I don't think I know of any COPO 70 Chevelles. They already had the LS6 as a RPO.

I have been told by people who where there (was it SCR6 ?),that Joel Rosen said he didnīt know that COPO 427 cars were being built by Chevrolet, so therefore none were ordered by Baldwin-Motion.

I think he has more than one location.

He has a location in the Chicago area. My friend purchased a 69 Vette from them that was not as represented. I always thought Corvette Mikes always had a good rep, mostly had high end vettes. Doesn't seem the same for the mid west location. Ron....

-----Im sorry to hear about your friends problem. I am good friends with the guys at C/Mikes in Chicago and that is not their MO at all. Having known one of the fellas there for over 30 years I can say he is one of the most straight up guys I have ever known........Bill S
