I saw an ad yesterday in an Olds publication that Cascade Auto Wrecking just North of Seattle WA was closing at the end of April and anything still there was being crushed. Last time I was there (April 07) they had lots of cars and parts. they had always focused on the 60's and 70's stuff and I never came out empty handed.(yes,I paid)

20 Years ago I knew the P**ck who used to own it. Tried buying a Lemans Blue 69 L-78 Chevelle they had. Would not sell it whole because they turned the Title into the State. He Crushed the car and put the running gear in a Truck. What a Moron.

reporting in after the recon mission, grabbed the '55 and headed out this morning...found some decent old stuff, nothing I needed but some stuff is still there, I asked about a back room with the good stuff, nothing! it's all gone or at there personal shops is what I gathered.

but there are some tid bits there yet, some Mopar metal, some Stang metal, little bit of second gen stuff around, bunch of big Buick cars mid/late '60's. anyway it was a sunny day, YEA!.

sorry I dont know how you guys post all the pics in a row..click on the link and wonder through a old bone yard, 88 pretty cool pics to check out.

Chuck there is a decent '79 bird you should be able to find what you need off it, its mostly there, check out the pic.

also check out the Cyclone fenders, thats all that's left of it and the steering wheel horn center was inside, the rest is long gone. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Bud, your 1-2 shift sounded a lot like the shifts in "Bullitt." (You got to drive your '55 today--I had to mow/edge the lawn. Might get mine out tomorrow.)

Verne, here's the '62...

That 1-2 shift DOES sound an awful lot like it's from the Bullitt soundtrack. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

Bud, I think you should use a helmet cam like the pro's, it's probably safer. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Have you seen the price of gas Bud??? Seriously, I'll do that one of these days soon. My 55 could use a long hot run. Off to the Mariners game today. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I here ya, pumped 50 bucks in the '55 in 2 days of poking around town, hell we dont get to drive them enough due to the crap weather we deal with, I am not worried about it, way to much fun http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif, I do need a Harley kill sticker for the car now http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That '62 has a pretty valuble front bumper that's worth more than the entire rest of the car!
