Old Oswego Raceway sticker that was in with a bunch of car papers, along with a picture of a 67 Chevelle that was running there.
The license plate looks to be orange with black lettering. Anybody know what year Illinois plate that is?

Rick, orange = 1969. Great photo, my car was raced there back in the day. Still hoping I'll find photos of it some day. Maybe this year at Oswego Drag Days? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

The 3rd Annual Oswego Drag Strip Days is hosted by the Village of Oswego’s Cultural Arts Commission, in conjunction with the Historic Downtown Business Association (HODBA). You and your families won’t want to miss this exhilarating event, celebrating one of the most exciting landmarks from Oswego’s past! Enjoy Oswego Drag Strip memorabilia, a Vintage and Classic Car Show, racing with Cub Scout Pack 363, mouth-watering food, and fantastic music. Held on Main Street in downtown Oswego, this year’s event will take place on September 13 & 14.

I'll have to put that one on the schedule. Thanks for the info.

Do you write their sales flyers? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah. They are fairly simply to write. Just "CTRL C" and then "CTRL V" and it done like magic. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Great find, Rick! The picture is actually on the notoriously potholed http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif return road in front of the timing tower. The 1969 IL plates are actually orange with dark blue lettering, the U of I colors....think it had something to do with some U of I milestone that year.

Jeff...

I've been through this a few times and have learned it's safest to let the conversion be the first time you run the films..
Old tapes sometimes loose their color after they've been run past the good old projector bulbs...even though it's held well for many passes in earlier years!.
Also aged films can become crispy and break easily so again the first running is your best chance to get the most converted before having to splice and risk loosing some magical footage..
Although tempting to watch first especially before trusting them to a complete stranger for conversion, I learned the hard way and now limit previews to still action eyeball views only..

So best of luck...and don't forget to hook us up w/ the link when you get 'em on YouTube!.

Here's a pic of the Oswego winners sticker that is still applied to the LS6's window. I'm going to leave it on after the car is restored.

Be kind to yourself...it was just a staggered tree due to you having a faster dial-in http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif Yeah, that's the ticket!
