I have an 01APB1 and an 01APB2 radio for my Z,
My question is, is there any way (maybe it does not matter) or does anyone know at what point the revision took place moving to the 2 designation. I have a late May build date and was curious. Also how come the listings I see indicate the same radio for a firebird would be 01FPB1 and the camaro as an 01APB1 (A body)??????? Shouldn't the camaro also be F
Thanks

I'm not certain, but think the designated "2" revision took place sometime after Dec.69 due to an internal circut board re-design.
Technically the 1970 Camaro should've come with the std. 01FPB1 F-Body labeled radio, which they did make. But because it was a late produced vehicle, most early 1970 records include it with 01APB1 or 01APB2 radio used on the 1970 Chevelle-Monte C.-Nova-Acadian as a default code.
Personally I think either the 01APB2 or 01FPB1 radio was possible for your assembly date,as I've pulled a few PB2's out of some certain 70 Camaros in the past, but not sure if they were assembly line or service/customer installed.
The std. 1970 Pontiac Firebird AM radio had a similar body design, but with a different face plate & would've been labeled 02FPB1.
The 1 designated Chevrolet,2 Pontiac.

I think I'll run with the series 2 I guess that would make the most sense.
In the event that it does not work do you know anyone local who fixes them?????
Thanks Again
