Is it "dark" or "frost" green? Interior color? Curious what plant it came from - alot of Pgh cars came from Baltimore or Framingham. Baltimore built cars rarely had build sheets, Framingham had some peculiar build sheets.

Here's my wag not to be confused with reality. I have owned 3 '69 L78 'velles and sold one of them (Colussy, Chev in Bridgeville, PA - Framingham built).

Regarding the car you mention, it is hard to tell without seeing it or pix. Altho green/green cars were quite popular then there are fewer takers now, so that affects market value. Documentation will be real important (don't forget old pix you may have). Sounds like the car is orginal but tired possibly w/o restorable original paint. Undercarriage unknown. With low miles it could be o.k. as long as it missed those messy/salty western PA winters. Storage of the car would be critical to condition. My estimate with info provided: With good docs - $40-45K, w/o docs - $25-30K. Sentimental value to you (original owner) .... priceless.

Am sure some others with more experience in this area will chime in. Keep us updated and good luck - am assuming you may make a play for this car. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

build sheet, protecto plate (warranty card folder), window sticker, dealer invoice, dealer order form, original title, dealer receipt for purchase, documentation of low miles, vintage photos, etc.

Look to see if it came with an F40 or F41 suspension.
Also if equipped w/M-22 Muncie.

i know its not m 22,its m 21,were am i looking for f40 or 41 suspension?

If there's a window sticker, buildsheet or dealer invoice it will show the RPO of F40 or F41,or M-20,M-21,M-22.
Or look for a rear sway bar & even boxed lower rear control arms too possibly denote F41 suspension.
If you notice any stickers still applied to the front/rear swaybar or either of the 4 shocks/springs,see if you can make them out too.
Can you tell us what month/year this chevelle was built as well as the assembly plant,(7th character in VIN),when you get time?
Do you remember what brand of tires it came with,Goodyear,Firestone and are they & the spare still around too?
That's pretty cool that you have the chance to get it back.

With your updated info (no winters, always stored inside and covered, car still very nice), and assuming there are no docs, I will guess $32 - $37K. If you truly believe that you're going to keep it this time (as opposed to buying it and then flipping it as soon as the old 'sentimentality' wears thin) then you might add on another $5 - $8K. As Sam has indicated, the fact that it's a true two owner car, you bought it new and have known the car it's entire lifetime is pretty much priceless http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Yep, I hear ya, and I'm sure there are plenty more of us here that did something very similar http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif But in this instance, you're one of the very few who gets a chance to make amends for past mistakes http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Given two build sheets, I'd say you could drop $50K on it and go to bed smiling every night. Has your friend given you a price yet? Am I in the ballpark?
