Sad indeed - always a gentleman!

Loved him as Rockford - I've got almost 20 - 6 hour vcr tapes of his shows complete with period commercials. They used to air everyday in the early eighties.

Those are some great shots with the Vette's - he was also heavy into off road racing.

James Garner's A.I.R. team fields ten scrambling SC/Ramblers for a new off-road racing concept.
Track record for the first outing Baja, California '69 - 1st-3rd-5th in class!

Wow.this thread almost has an obit overtone to it he ain't gone yet!

Seriously Rockford was my fave show growing up still think it's the best ever. Especially the one's with Tom Selleck(Lance White P.I.) before he hit it big with his own show. The beach footage of his trailer is from Paradise Cove(same as lethal weapon)it's right down the road from me. When I was squirrelling around on Mullholland thirty years ago he had a clean 67 Cooper S that he would run, great guy.
If you get a chance buy a copy of his movie "The racing scene" It never made it and was dwarfed by McQueens "Lemans" which came out at the same time but has some great footage of his racing from then http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Love the scenes in Grand Prix when he's at the wheel of that Hertz Shelby.

Paul D had a '67 Ferrari that he owned new, it was sold last year, but it was fun to sit in it and know that he drove it.
