I am looking for a car that a friend of mine used to own. The car was raced in Detroit area in the 70's under the name Mike Keener. The car was red with a vinyl top. I have alot of information on this car to include who the original owner is. Please help me find this car. Thanks, Jeff 216-905-1983

I will be posting pictures of the car as it was brand new. I have decided to share some of the pictures of the car that I have. These pictures were taken the day the car came from the delership "Ed Stinn." I still have not found out what happened to the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated! How do you post pictures here? Jeff 216-905-1983

Dude, have you tried asking Mike? Racers are generally pretty good about keeping tabs on their old rides...

Mike Keener and Paul Mercurie from (Romulus??) Michigan I think. "CHECKMATE" very fast Modified Eliminator boys! Then I believe they went to Stock Eliminator and may be still racing. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

This pic I took in 92 at Englishtown. I asked him if it was the same car they had way back . he said no. This one I think was a Stocker not a mod car.

I remember all the names mentioned above..........I tried my best, but couldnt begin to compete with their teamwork, expertise or money.

Please forgive this ole' guy for hanging onto memories of another era.

I am having troubles posting the pictures. Can someone help? The original owners brother is good friends with Mike Keener and Mike said when he sold the car it went down south and that was all he knew. Mike said no one has ever contacted him regarding the car. I hope the car didn't get crushed! I know a few key things that will prove if it is the original car that I got from the original owners brother/mechanic. The car will not have the original motor or trans thats for sure! The rear end may still be with the car? The other details he told me I am going to keep private until I find the car. Jeff

If it was their mod car the rear was 9' ford and coil springs out back. I thought it was a strange set-up but it worked great.

Come on Chuck....be easier on yourself! You did what most of us would have loved to do.... drag raced NHRA style and was competitive. Running Modified Eliminator in the old days was real tough. Especially in your division with the Joint Venture corvette and all those other record setting modified cars in the Pacific NW! Keep hanging on Chuck, you deserve the memories. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif
