Drooling! Can't wait for Gettysburg! You guys live too far away. Great shots! I could have hitched a ride with BBBenny and Sammy when they were out that way! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

We had a pretty nice turn out considering the weather. 55 had registered, and I think 45 attended. They did a meet, and greet like the supercar reunion, starting around noon on Friday, then Sat was the show. We planned it as a relaxed, fun event, and it sure seemed to be.
We plan on doing it annually, so we hope to see more folks join in next year.
Even that Gobby beige 307 car was pretty nice. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks Bruce.

No, that's Cronkleton's Ericksen sold deuce. We were at the Cedar Rapids Marriot hotel. Nice spot. We had the Nova Nats there a few years ago.
A side note on Ia weather. I got a call from the 1st lady while I was there telling me not to come home for a while as they were getting hit with very high straight line winds and heavy rain. When we got home there were trees down all over town. Spent some time with the chain saw cleaning up Cronkleton's mom, and dads place.
Not sure if I should build an ark, or a concrete bunker. And we're in for more heavy rain today. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That red Deuce in the middle......is that a ram air option on that car? Did not know that was available for the Deuce's! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hmmm.gif I guess we never stop learning. Anyhow great pictures looks like a good event. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif Sammy

Looks like that ram air on the red nova came from a AMC Machine.AMC parts on a Chevy, what's this world coming to.

An official option for the Deuce. Check out item 6 under "Other Options" at the bottom of the page and the picture at the upper right.

and a closer look at Schonye's hood.

That's a real AMC Rebel Machine scoop and tach, and it came off of a red/white/blue version - I sold it to Schoneye several years ago when I was thinning the stash! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

So you were originally going AMC in the old days? I bet you had a connection with Wally Booth!!! Some real fast AMC's in those days. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY

Well, the connection is more with Hurst vs. AMC. Yenko had several Hurst items on the Deuces, obviously the shifter - which is significant because Novas were never available from GM with Hurst shifters, only the 124 4speed COPO Novas (122 deuces and 2 canadians) received a Hurst shifter. It is believed that Yenko had Hurst create the combination of the '69 Z28 shifter and GTO bench seat arm. Yenko used Hurst Olds 442 / Hurst Rambler SC mirrors on the Deuces, and the Hurst designed Rebel Machine scoop. Yenko obviously used the Hurst AutoStick shifters on the a/t deuces. Not to mention, Hurst likely performed the deuce conversions on the second batch of 50 deuces....

I understand Nikki used my deuce as her personal driver... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Ok, so how many got the twin bolt-on flush fit twin rear spoilers? I have never seen that option. But that hood scoop looks pretty cool on there! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

YENKO DEUCE REGISTRY

None - that we know of. I have an old ad for the spoiler option, it was a Cal-Custom item(s). They are silly looking, so I'm glad none of the Deuces received them.

Also, none of the deuces received the hood scoop option that we are aware of, only the brochure car - which was not a deuce. We know that at least one deuce was ordered with the hood scoop option, but when he got his deuce it was a dealer trxfr and there was no hood scoop.

Sad news from CR. That spirit of America, and a 73 nova, not pictured owned by Jeff Grady, the club president were under water. I got this info 2nd hand, but believe it to be true.
I don't think the comparisons calling this the Iowa Katrina are exagerated. 400 city blocks were under water up there. As hard is it is to imagine, it could have been worse had both the state, and local authorities not worked so well together.By the time FEMA got to the affected areas, the locals had everthing moving ahead as best as possible including immediate mobilization of the national guard.
Unfortunatly, they're forcasting mare rain starting Thursday, with heavy storms coming in the 1st of next week. Lets hope they're wrong.

We had bad flooding in '93 and they're now predicting higher levels this year for many of the same areas along the Mississippi River. Sandbagging efforts are already beginning to fail.
Sad news about the cars but we're much more concerned for the 'friends' affected by this.

I havn't heard from the Alberts, but I think they should be ok. The farther South you get, the worse it gets as all the rivers flow into the Mississippi.Levees are giving way pretty bad South of the Quad cities. It could be worse than 93 by the time it gets to you Mr Cumby. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

We're high and dry where we are and the Illinois River (closest to us) isn't as bad as the Mississippi. Those two converge at Grafton, IL and they already have some flooding and mud slides from the recent rains. Predicted to peak there Thursday.......... unless we get more rain.............. which is forecast for Friday.
