a friend has a friend that is trying to sell a SCCA auto-x car that was made from one

Were they "made" by anyone, ie, did a certain dealer construct them or were they made by anyone that bought the parts?

Here it is at an autocross in the early 80's:

He has all the original stuff for it save for the engine & trans (was swapped out at Traco engines in California early on in its life) and the dash plastic.

I could be wrong but I think the Cheverra was similar to the Fire Am in that you could order one from certain participating dealers. These cars were equipped with suspension parts developed by Herb Adams and could handle very well for the day.
There used to be a burgundy Fire Am around my house that looked pretty cool.

someone said Cars & Concepts did them or this one, would that be possible?
