Are there any production numbers for 1969 COPO Camaro's built with automatics and four speeds (percentages and actual production numbers would be interesting)?

ALSO, how many COLUMN SHIFT AUTOMATIC 1969 COPO's were built?

My 69 X-11 COPO recreation has the columm auto shifter, however because of the Day 2 headers, you cant use the frame to T-400 linkage. Does anybody have any experience with the LOKAR linkage that will enable the column shifter to work.

We have the Lokar cable on our 68 BB TH400 Nova and I used the Shiftworks replacement linkage on the 70 black TH400 car. Both of these cars have headers and both choices work fine....linkage is probably less money. Got the parts from Wayne at NNN.

Tom can you tell us what name brand headers and head pipe size you used? Did you go with ceramic coated or painted? Any experience with a 4-speed car and keeping the reverse interlock in place? It looks like allot of work to get the headers in these Novas with a big block. Was it worth the effort in improved performance?

Mark, 1 3/4" tubes on the L78 cars with 4 speed....2" tubes on the 454 block in the 68. Factory reverse lockout worked ok with both the factory muncie shifter and a hurst. We welded a looped tab on the header tube for the clutch return spring http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif we used ceramic coated on the 68 car...Hooker Comps....ordered them plain, dry fit to chassis first, made our dimples for power steering, etc..then sent them out for coating....they work great. Definately worth the performance gain...smaller tubes on the 396 is the way to go...make for better low-end power...these engines like to breath...especially from 3,000 rpm's up http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif
