It has been a month and this is what my brother and I have built so far. We are pooring the floor this weekend. The addition is 30x32 with 14 foot ceilings. The total length of the pole barn when we are done is going to be 30x72. I am really looking forward to the new shop with a lift!

Very nice - you can always come to Beantown and build your next one if you get bored!

I am planning on using forced hot air. I had a furnace given to me and it is only 2 years old. Nothing better than free! I was thinking of radiant heat but I know a couple of friends that have it in there garage and they regret putting it in. When you open your garage door in the winter it takes to long to recover. They both have 16’ doors. That may be why. But with the price of home heating oil my heat will only be on when I am working in the garage. As for the attic space I will have a trap door not planned for storage. I have the old 30X40 for storage. I may build a loft down the road for more storage. I know one bay will have a lift in it that is why I went with the 14’ ceilings.

Garage floor is in, the doors are installed and all the framing is done. I had a busy weekend! I ordered the sheet metal for the outside which will be delivered on Thursday. I hope to have it fully enclosed next weekend.

Well it is water tight. Next is to finish the inside. I hope to have it finish by late fall. Pop warner football starts next week for my son. So most of my spare time will be at the football field.

When it get's too cold to work there, come on down to Southeast Alabama and help me build on to mine. My two bay shop is nice, but boy would I like to have that height and a lift.
Come on down when the digits get numb.
