My 1973 Formula 400 Firebird will be presented at the First Bloomington Gold All Survivor Show on Sunday June 29th in St. Charles, Illinois. It will be displayed under the GM tent. It is a remarkable survivor. It is equipped as follows: Valencia Gold with Custom Saddle Interior, 400, PS, PB, AM/FM 8-Track, Turbo 400, Posi, Air Conditioning, Rally II Wheels, All 5 Original Firestone Wide Oval Tires, Complete Owner History and all of the paperwork. It is 100% original from the paint, to the red oxide floor pans, to the factory markings and inspection tags. I am asking $40,000.00 but I am always interested in trades or offers.

I have a number of survivor Pontiacs that I will be offering for sale this year. Stop by the show or give me a call. My name is Ed and I can be reached at (847) 809-8022.

Nice car!!!!!!

I have a friend here in Houston that has a twin to it, but a 72. He found his in a garage here in Houston a few years back and was parked with about 6k miles when the son went to Vietnam. The son did not make it back and the car just sat. During hurricane Alicia in the 80's a tree fell into the garage roof and damaged the roof on the car. Joe fixed that and it is a time capsule like yours.

Best of luck with the sale. Beautiful car.

Bruce:

Many thanks for posting the pictures for me. I followed your tutorial but I just couldn't seem to get them to go. I even had my 16 year old nephew help me but to no avail.

This is a great car and the paint is in awesome condition. The original Florida owner purchased it for his wife. She drove it 2,000 miles and decided that she didn't like it. He collected cars and put the car with his others in a bubble. It stayed there until 1999 when he passed and was purchased by the gentleman who insured his vehicles.

It starts on the first crank and the choke works beautifully. The air blows cold and it drives like a new 1973. One interesting thing is that the exhaust note is almost perfect and is incredibly throaty.

Anyway, it will be at Bloomington and I'm very excited about showing it. David Burroughs invited it to be in the GM tent. See you there, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif Ed http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif

Are you referring to Joe Parish's drop-dead gorgeous Monarch Yellow '72 455HO Formula? If so, you have a couple of minor details mixed up on the car, but it is quite a car. It's a 36K mile deal.

Ed and anyone else, We really are never sure of the heritage of our cars up to the day that we actually know the car. Ed I don't think that you have known this car very long, so you REALLY don't know for sure. This car was owned by my neighbor and I have driven it, and have seen it up close. IT IS A BEUTIFUL CAR with out question. I heard its history and I can tell all that the way you tell it is the same as I heard it. I am interested to see if the chip is still there. Here are a few pics of it in my driveway from a couple of summers ago. See you Sunday

I think the first ever Bloomington Gold All Makes Survivor show was quite a success. It was nice to finally meet many members from this board and Performance Years. While they gave participation certificates to everyone who attended, some cars were singled out in recognition of outstanding preservation. The judges did a sample review of the vehicles that were present and David Burroughs and Keith Martin were the hosts. I thought it was a great day and a good start to this much needed event.

The good news is my Formula received one of the Recognition Certificates and David Burroughs, amongst others, told me it was a "no brainer". Thanks to every one who stopped by especially Steve Shaugger. Ed http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

I've got so many irons in the fire with so many projects, when I'm finished or the cars are this original and nice, I like to see them go to new homes where they can become the star of the show. I've currently got 20 cars and I can't afford to keep them all. Although, I do have a soft spot for Firebirds and this is a great car. Thanks, Ed
