I have a 1969 Z28 Camaro with the JL8 option per the window sticker. The broadcast sheet has a CX designation in block 56 for the Brake Cylinder. I am told the proper master cylinder is the 5468309 casting. What is the proper code that should be stamped on the front pad ???
Would it be US like most other ?

My JL8 has a 309 master cylinder with a US stamp. Nearly every brake component is original to the car.

I think my JL8 car has the CX in the master cylinder box as well. It should be the 309 master cylinder but I'm not sure if the JL8 had a slightly larger bore vs the standard disc brake setup? I don't see anything in Jerry's book mentioning that but for some reason I thought it did.

I was at Carlisle and asked many folks their opinions and was told the US code was the one. Just trying to confirm. Picked up a really nice one at the show with an early 69 date for $ 80.

Sounds like a consensus. 309 Master with a US stamp on the front pad. Thanks
