Shouldn't be difficuly to find out. It always comes up for sale every couple of years. Isn't it in Washington State now?

Excuse my ignorance Gents. I've oftened wondered how this car acquired it's special 'Carolina Blue' color.

No BS please and thanks for insightful replys.

I remember this article well (I think the original owner was a Trans Am racing fan who specially ordered every option on the car, including the special-ordered color and the stripes going down to the rear panel), but it doesn't look like the same blue as the 1970 Carolina Blue Chevelle SS cars I've seen.

I do recall at Russo and Steele a few years ago a blue and white SS350 '69 Camaro that was Carolina Blue.

Opinions are like... well, you know what they're like, but I personally think the color is terrible. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

There is another carolina blue Z28 around Elkhorn City in Kentucky. Not a crossram car.-- for paint code. The car supposedly has the original paint still.Seems like the mileage was in the 30,000's.I have seen the car once years ago.The owner had a daytona yellow Z at the same time.

Why does it have a black grille? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

If the real Trans-Am cars had a black grille, then that's why this one does.

It's been about 10 years since I've read that article, but the story made an impression on me. I'm sure if I'm wrong, someone will chime in.

I remember allot of the original paperwork was in the John Hooper book on 1969 Camaros but I do not remember if the story about the car was in that book. There are a couple of Carolina blue 1969 SS RS Camaros that pop up on E-bay every couple of months. I remember one of them had a story about a daughter of a Chevrolet dealer going to UCLA and he ordered her a car in the school colors.

I beleive Jim Mattison said there were quite a few Carolina Blue cars ordered in the late 60's early 70's... There is a LS6 Chevelle with Blue Interior.

I thought this car was a west coast car so it technically wouldn't be "carolina blue". I thought it was a Colorado car and that's why the custom blue was ordered. But I could be confusing it with the UCLA blue as well. I think it was ordered with JL8 brakes as well but was too late as the option was cancelled.

Well, it doesn't look like the Carolina Blue cars I've seen...

I have a 73 Z28/LT camaro carolina blue. Very cool color, one color you will not see at many car shows. It is getting restored as new back in the day. Maybe will add some day 2 items. Roger
