Don't forget that with 2059 auctions and 96.7% positive feedback, that means he's had 67 negatives! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif

I don't think that is true Verne. I think the feedback percentage is calculated for the last 6 months or something like that.

I've never heard that. If that's the case, it's a LOT worse!

Definately not the correct 70 Chevelle, Camaro dual snorkel used on LS6 and L78 cars. Looks a lot like the Oldsmobile Toronado air cleaner from 67?

I think it is a year that the feedback percentage is calculated from.

From the Ebay feedback page:

The Positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the total number of feedback ratings received in the last 12 months, excluding Repeat Feedback from the same member in the same week.

Note: This could mean that the number of ratings used for this calculation is different from the same number shown in the Recent Ratings table on the left.

Actually he updated the description from 70 only to a 67 - 72. So technically per his description there is nothing wrong with it.

Well for one thing, the base is a repo cowl induction base and the snorkels are too narrow.

Thanks Nils for posting the picture. I was trying to find some older posts on here that had pictures of original L78/LS6 dual snorkel air cleaners to post for comparisons. I know this has been discussed before here on the site. The snorkels are definately wrong, you can tell by looking at this picture of the real one. Thats what didn't seem right to me the first time I looked at the one on e-bay..

If someone could post some other photos of the L78/LS6 dual snorkel air cleaner it would probably clarify the issues & questions others might have..

Thanks Guys.... Rich http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I also would like to have a discussion to help establish my belief that ALL 1970 L-78 Camaros had a factory smog hose configuration as shown in this assy manual diagram......
....BUT ya know what, nobody has ONE photo of a 70 Camaro ORIGINAL engine bay.....I mean old school 1970 photo showing a stock eng compartment.......
Here we go again, er here I go again!!!!!!!!!!

Chuck, not to long ago there was discussion here about that drivers side smog tube. I think what was determined was that the hockey stick, sharped curved angle style that went around the front of the valve cover was utilized into early 1970 & the kind shown in the assembly manual picture you posted was utilized later in 1970 production cars. However, my assembly manual for my 70 Nova shows the hockey stick style and not the other... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

WOW what a profit!!! You can buy (2) REPOP Cowl air cleaner bases (1) for the extra snorkel and (1) REPOP 70 Z/28 style dual snorkel lid all for around $350 and all the sudden its the ULTRA RARE 1 year only dual snorkel air cleaner for the 1970 LS6 and L78. I have witnessed at least 8 sales on ebay for these BOGUS homemade air cleaners in the last 5 years with prices ranging from $500-$1800. There was one installed on the Dupont L89 Nova that popped up recently also and boasted this RARE air cleaner in the article.
