Guys, for a 1970 L78 or LS6 engine with a cable style throttle assembly, what finish should the accelerator/throttle cable bracket be.. Black or Gold Cad????????

Neither. They should be gray phosphate.

Rick, When you use the description GRAY Phosphate, are you actually using ZINC Phosphate or MANGANESE Phosphate to achieve the GRAY color ?????......
I have in the past used the Manganese Phosphate from PALMETTO Ent, but thus far never used his Zinc Phosphate.

Rick, Do you have comparitive pictures of the similar but different cable brkts , to include Chris's repop............

Everyone calls it something different. The bracket on the right was plated for Chris White by someone he uses. The one on the left was done by Steve Gregory and he calls it zinc phosphate. Seems most people generically call it gray phosphate. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Not saved in my picture files but if you do a search on here, they were posted more than once.
I have also seen one that looked like rust colour just like the previous one. The pic is courtesy of Chris.
