I'm totally not a Chevy guy, so it takes something special for me to be interested. I thought this car was very neat - anyone know the story on this one?

I ~think~ I saw that '69 at the Atlantic City Auction about 3 years ago!

Nice car, very unique. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If I am not mistaken, isn't the hard top an L89?

If that's correct, I beleive this car was a Arizona Classic Car Dealership in 2004 that I came across.

Found my AC Auction album, but only one photo is still in it, a Carolina Blue '70 Chevelle SS454 LS6.

I'll try to pay more attention next time. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Hardtop, droptop.

All I remember is it's an L78, at least according to the air cleaner. If there was a sign indicating it was a L89, I don't remember it.

I just know it was one of the more drool-inducing Cameros I've seen in quite awhile.

(And, yes, I misspelled it on purpose - doncha hate when people spell it wrong?http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif)

The engine pic and front license plate say L89.

Can't argue with that, right? :-)

I was just curious if the car was real. All too often, some of these cars are too good to be true, and as Camaros have to rely on documentation, that's what interested me. It certainly looks like one of the top Camaros in my eyes as far as equipment goes.

The L89 car was done by Steve Stange, his shop was called the Pony Car Ranch. Site is gone, it had pics.....
It was www.ponycarranch.com/ (http://www.ponycarranch.com/) if someone wants to dig.

Wasn't the guy who restored this car on this site before? Years ago? Also doesn't the owner of the 1970 L89 black nova own this car too? I think the guys from NJ. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif Maybe its my age that is causing me to ask these questions but I can only seem to remember half of what I try to remember anymore! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Even w/ supposed 'bulletproof' docs there's sure lots more homework to be done!.

I may be wrong but wasn't there yellow '69 L89 Coupe w/ Canadian docs we here on this site viewed pics of and questioned a year or so back?.

Again sorry if I'm remembering wrong but I seem to recall it appeared possible someone could have started w/ Canadian L89 documents and built the car to match incl. the obvious repop Cowl Tag that was shown also a Vin tag that was in question but not displayed?.

There's also a 'wayback' site that does the same thing. That's why I posted the old site address, knew someone would dig it up. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I inspected that car, it was right down the street from us, I think as recently as a couple of years ago, not sure, i sent some pics to Chuck ... no parking brake cables on it when I saw it ... some details were not correct back then ...
